How to use Springdale Match for DWS:

Join Springdale Match: Open your browser and go to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the “Join” link in the upper right corner

Fill out the form and press the submit button. Note: Your email address will be your “Username”. Also, make sure you check the boxes for Singles and Mixed Doubles if you want to play.

Login to Springdale Match Open your browser and go to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the “Login” link in the upper right corner

Fill out the form and press the “login” button

View/Edit Player Details Login to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the “Player Details” link in the top menu

This will display your player details. If you want to change anything, press the “Edit” button

Here, you can change your information. Press “Save Changes” to commit your changes, or “Cancel” to scrap them.

View News Login to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the “News” link on the top menu

View a Ladder Login to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the link in the top menu that corresponds to the ladder you want to view. Note: you will only see those ladders that you are signed up for.

This will display the ladder with the current rankings. Rankings/Ratings are calculated several times a day. You will only have a rating if you have played at least ½ the number of matches as the MOST active person on the ladder. Otherwise your Rating will be 0.00. Your rating is initially based on your level then increased or decreased based on your performance.

Create a Challenge Login to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the link in the top menu that corresponds to the ladder you want to create a challenge for.

This will display the ladder with the current rankings. Simply click the “Create {ladder name} Match” button

This will display the “Create a Match” form. On this form, choose a date and time for the match. Set the match type (Ladder or Rec/Practice). Rec/Practice matches will NOT count towards your ratings. You will be automatically entered into the first available slot (usually the Player 1 position). If you already know some or all of the players, you may select them by clicking the down arrow to the right of the name box (initially populated with -------). You may fill some or all of these. If you want Springdale Match to email the challenge, you need to Invite Players. You can do this “by Level” and/or “by Player”. Simply check the appropriate boxes. Fill in any match notes and press the “Send Request” button to create the match. Everyone that meets the criteria you selected in the “Invite Players” section will received an email challenging them to a match. All involved players will also get an email when a match is full, or when a full match loses a player.

View Open Challenges Login to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the link in the top menu that corresponds to the ladder you want to view challenges for.

This will display the ladder with the current rankings. Simply click the “Upcoming” Link in the ladder sub-menu

This will display the upcoming matches (both Open for players and Full), as well as any past matches that have not yet been scored. Unscored matches will be automatically deleted 14 days they were scheduled. You can click the “Join” button to view details or Join/Leave an open match. You can click the “View” button to view details of a full match or to Leave it.

View Completed Challenges Login to http://springdalematch2.herokuapp.com Click on the link in the top menu that corresponds to the ladder you want to view challenges for.

This will display the ladder with the current rankings. Simply click the “Completed” Link in the ladder sub-menu

This will display the completed matches (those that have been scored). Y

Join or Leave a match There are two ways to join a match. Either by clicking on the link in the Challenge email sent by Springdalematch@gmail.com or by Clicking the “Join” button from the “Upcoming Challenges” display (see above). Either of those routes will display the “Match Detail” page. You may join any open position by clicking the “Join” button next to that position. (Note, for Mixed Doubles, Positions 1 & 3 are reserved for female players and 2 & 4 for male players).

You may leave a match you have already joined by clicking the “Leave” button next to your name.

Score a Match Go to the match details page either by clicking the link in your invitation or “full” email, or by following the directions in “View Open Challenges” above and clicking the “Join” or “View” button next to your match. Once at the “Match Details” page, you may score the match by entering the scores in the “Match Score” section at the bottom of the page. Then click “Submit Score”. Rankings/Ratings are not recalculated immediately, but will be recalculated several times per day.
