Smart Account (SA)Type of an account that helps to easily view, store and manage ALL your assets and entitlements in one location across the entire organization. It also helps to consolidate user access management.
Virtual Account (VA) A sub-folder within the SA that helps to internally organize your assets and entitlements.
Assets Hardware/ devices, software, subscriptions and services.
Entitlement(s)
What Cisco Customers and Partners are entitled to: Right to Use, Right to Technical Support, Right to Software Download, Right to Manage Licenses, Right to Software Version Upgrade, Right to Hardware Replacement, Right to Content and more.
CCO IDA CCO ID is your personal log in for the Cisco.com website. With a CCO ID you can register for trainings, events, programs and promotions and access additional tools and content.
Domain Domain represents business or organizations on the internet. Example, for email address [email protected], domain is ‘cisco.com’.

If you have access to more than one SA, the platform will:1. Display a list of all the SAs along with their SA Domain Identifier.You can, 2. Search for a SA by SA Name or Account Domain Identifier.3. Select a SA to view the assets from the selected SA.4. Select a VA, within the selected SA, to view the assets from the selected VA.

If you don’t currently have access to a Smart Account, but your registered CCO ID email domain matches one or more SA domains in the Cisco database, you may:
1.Search for a specific SA by the SA Domain Identifier.
2.Request access to an existing SA for your Company’s domain. Example, if your primary email address is [email protected], all SAs with the domain cisco.com will be displayed and you may request access. After requesting access to a listed SA, you must logout and wait for access to be granted prior to logging into the platform again.
3. If you do not see a SA for your Company, you may choose to create a new SA by clicking the Create new Smart Account link.

Already have a Smart Account? Profile matches a Smart Account Profile doesn’t match a Smart Account

If you don’t have access to a Smart Account, and your email domain doesn’t match any existing SA domain in the Cisco database, you may:
1. Create a new Smart Account
2. Request access to an existing SA, if you know the SA Domain Identifier.

MCE provides a summarized dashboard, allowing the user to:

The Account Overview tab displays Last Date of Support (LDoS), and Service Coverage
Total Devices indicates the number of Cisco devices owned by the customer.
LDoS indicates the % of devices that have reached their last date of support from Cisco.
Service Coverage indicates % of devices that are currently covered under a Cisco service contract.

The Account Overview tab provides helpful insights to maintain and manage assets and entitlements. The Device Coverage tile:1. Choose to view devices
covered or uncovered by architecture or installed country.
2. Guide Me explains what information the tile displays, and actions you can take.
3. Data can be viewed either in graphical or list view. In the graphical view, clicking on a specific bar will list the details for your selection.
4. View Assets helps to drill-down further into the specific data set selected.

Global Search is a quick and easy way to locate assets & entitlements based on a variety of inputs, such as serial number or contract number across all tabs in all the SAs you can access.
To use global search:1. Input a minimum of 3
characters in the search bar and click the search icon.
2.View results displayed across three filters –Category, Smart Account, and Inventory View.
3.Select Switch to Main View to take actions on any of the search results. This will take you to the tab based on your selection in the Filters pane for Category.

Use Search to find data within a particular tab (Services & Subscriptions, Licenses, and Devices) of the selected Smart Account
Filter Export
Applied filters will display on the UI. To remove filters, click ‘X’
Filters allows you to filter assets and entitlements based on the selected fields. If the search results are fewer than 100K lines, more filters will appear to help further narrow down the search.

Based on your persona and permissions, you may see additional filters like ‘Inventory View’ which helps you filter on assigned and unassigned assets and entitlements.
Assigned view displays all assets and entitlements assigned to the selected SA and VA. Unassigned view displays all assets and entitlements assigned to the selected SA but not yet assigned to a VA.
Export
Export allows you to download reports:1. To export individual records, select record(s).2. To export an entire page of records, select the checkbox at the column header.3. To export all records, click on the dropdown next to the column header and click
on Select All On All Pages.4. Click Export to open the Export pop-up dialogue box.

Manage Columns gives you the flexibility to choose the columns of data you want to view :
1.Click Manage Columns to open the columns selector.
2.Select the columns you like to display from the columns selector.

Copy and Copy with Headers gives you the ability to copy any item displayed in the tables in all three tabs- Services & Subscriptions, Licenses, and Devices and paste it into an application of your choice, e.g., word, excel, etc:
1. Right click on the item you want to copy.
2. Select Copy to copy just the item or
3. Select Copy with Headers to copy the item along with its header information.

Open Case gives you the ability to launch the support case manager tool. You can open a support case for one device, service, or subscription at a time from the line view page and the detail view page.To open a support case from the line view page,1. Click on either Devices or Services &
Subscriptions tab.2. Select Assigned and Covered within
the filters.3. Click on the three dots next to the
line item to open the in-line action menu.
4. Select Open Case to be taken to the Support Case Manager.

When on the Devices tab, the Open Case function is only available for a device that is covered under an active contract

When creating a support case from MCE, Support Case Manager will be pre-populated with all the readily available information.

Order Version Upgradeallows you to place a software version upgrade request from the Assigned view.
To order software version upgrade
1.Click on Licenses.
2.Select Assigned view.
3.Click Version Upgrade to see all the licenses available for version upgrade and go to Create Order page.

1.Select Product license to expand and get a detailed view.
2.Update Order Quantity for the required product you’d like to order.
3.Click the pencil icon in theOrder Virtual Account columnto deposit ordered licenses to a VA.
4.Click Proceed to Order to be taken to the Review Order page.

1.Review summary of upgrades.
2.Enter the eDelivery Email under the Order Details section. Note, this is mandatory in order to receive your order confirmation.
3.Click Place Order to proceed to the DocuSign page.

The History tab displays events and actions that have impacted assets and entitlements in a SA/VA:
1. The History tab maintains details such as Event Date, Event, User (who executed the event), event details and notes captured during the event.
2. The Search All functionality allows you to find specific details contained within Event details, Notes or both.
3. The Filters functionality filters events by: user who executed the event, Event Date, or Event Type.

Term Definition
Assigned Assets
Services, subscriptions, licenses, and devices that are tagged to a Virtual Account within the Smart Account allowing users (in addition to SA Administrators) to view the assets in MCE and access entitlements to those assets.
Unassigned Assets
Services, subscriptions, licenses, and devices associated to the Smart Account’s Anchor Party or Parties. Unassigned assets can be viewed by SA Administrators for assignment to a Virtual Account permitting SA and VA users the ability to view and access those assigned services, subscriptions, licenses, and devices. Users other than SA Administrators cannot view or access entitlement to unassigned assets.

The Inventory View may be filtered to display all assets, assigned assets only or unassigned assets only. These filtered views are available within the Services & Subscriptions, Licenses, and Devices tabs for SA administrators only.1. Assigned lists all assets that are assigned to the SA and a VA.2. To assign assets to a VA individually:

3. Select Assign to a Virtual Account from the inline action menu
