How To Turn Around Your Failing Business

In the year 2008, following an interesting 5 days course, I decided to do something different with my offline business � I decided to use the internet to increase the sales and profit of my offline business by taking my business from purely offline to internet based.

Primarily, I am a Consultant, Trainer, Writer, Entrepreneur and Marketer. As a consultant, I procure visa, flight and accommodation for genuine Nigerian travellers. As a trainer, I conduct video based, book based and face to face trainings on business and life issues. I write on business, women and issues of life, as a Marketer, I spear head the marketing activities that drive the sales and profits of my consulting, writing and training gigs and of course I run some other profitable online businesses as an entrepreneur. As you will observe, four out of five of what I do, are majorly offline businesses but as you have guessed right, a large volume of the sales and profit generated from these offline businesses are the result of the heavy online or internet based marketing that we do. Internet based marketing is a very cost effective and targeted marketing approach that offline business owners can use to drive up sales and profit just like I do. And if your business is failing and needs to jerk to turn around, here is what to do: 1) Look at your existing product mix, confirming that you are offering what the market wants, and that it is appropriately priced. 2) Look at your business processes. Often their system needs to be replaced with one that's more effective. Often they don't even HAVE a system. They are running the business by reacting to emergencies rather than executing a plan. 3) Look at your business� assets, looking for assets that are under-utilized. THIS is often what allows me to most easily turn a failing business around. Identify and re-deploy or leverage under-utilized assets.

4) Look for other businesses that can form strategic relationships or partnerships with your business... to benefit both businesses. Often you as the failing business owner DON'T have critical resources or know-how and CAN'T succeed unless you leverage others' assets. You may need to form strategic alliances or joint ventures. You may need to create new partnerships, and in the process often save your failing businesses. 5) Have you mastered the art of driving sales and profit using the internet? Amazingly, many internet based or online businesses are failing and require a turn around. It doesn�t matter if your business is internet based or purely offline, these are strategic ways for a turn around; and often times, as businesses owners, we lack the critical know-how and resources required to turn around our failing business.
