How to translate Eaglesoft forms to Spanish using Word 2007 and SmartDoc

1. Open SmartDoc for Patient:

2. Open the form from the Letters menu or Import a custom form if needed. The example uses the HIPAA Authorization form:

3. Select the entire body of the document then from the Review tab on the Word toolbar

choose Translate:

4. Or, right-click on the document and choose Translate (The right-click option is also available in Word 2003).

5. A sidebar opens where you choose the language:

6. Click on the green arrow on the right side of the screen.

7. Click Yes.

8. Copy and paste the letter from this page into Smartdoc.

9. Choose Translation Options from the pane. Find the English to Spanish option under ‘Available language pairs’ and make sure this is set to Microsoft Translator. Click OK to save this change.

10. Scroll down further in the sidebar to choose ‘Insert’ which replaces the body of the document with the translated version: This seems to lose any formatting that might have been in the document.

11. From SmartDoc, choose File – Save As Letter to save a Word Template of the translated form to be available in the Letters list for all patients via SmartDoc:
