Everyone loves clicking pictures. Everyone, almost, has a smartphone. With the rise in camera quality in smart-phones, everyone has become a photography aficionado. Selfies, Group Selfie etc, there is nothing that the smartphone cannot click. Flickr is the worlds leading image hosting site. According to their report in 2014, more than 68% pictures stored on their sites were taken from smartphones. These phenomenal data shows the level of dependence on a smartphone to take pictures.

For many people the phone has become a replacement for a traditional camera. You may have a 13-MP behemoth or a 2-MP snapper, but that doesnt mean you cant take awesome photos. One just needs to be smart with their gizmos to take awe-inspiring pictures.

We, at Voniz are also not an exception to that rule. Most of us are selfie-addicts here as well. Believe me; we really have got 8 different and definite tips and ideas to take those near perfect photos from your smartphone.

1. Manipulate LightSmartphone cameras always find it difficult to deal with natural light or absence of it. You would be amazed to hear that this drawback can be used to create special effects. Try and position your subject at different places and positions to play with lights on different angles. Alternatively, try to take pictures with and without flash which could make the difference between a sharp image and a portrait style.

2. Learn the CaptureIt is extremely important that you know the characteristics of your cameras functions in and out. One of the most important is to know the behavior of the capture; when exactly does the camera take the picture whether on the press of a button or the release of it. What is the lag time, how much time do you have to hold the camera for the picture to settle. This would help you take the exact photo rather than one that happened seconds later.

3. Reduced ShakeThe most difficult challenge for any photographer is to reduce the shaking of the camera. Not denying that sometimes, this particular camera shake can also be used to advantage. But more than not, camera shake is an annoyance. Try to keep the smartphone as still and stable as possible. Nowadays, specially built tripods are available for iPhones to reduce the shake. One can also use tables, fences, mailboxes, chairs etc to get that reduced shake. If nothing is available, try to hold the phone in two hands with as less movement as possible. 4. Dont Keep The Frame EmptyNever, and I repeat, never use the digital zoom on your smartphone snapper. Digital zoom is of no use while taking a picture. All it does is to zoom in on the existing pixels making the picture hazy and blurred. In case, your camera boasts of optical zoom, only then use it otherwise try to get closer to your subject.

5. Consider CompositionYou should be familiar with the composition effects of your camera. Center of Interest, The rule of thirds and dynamic symmetry are all worth knowing about. Understanding good composition of an image is helpful in improving any image, whether it's a giant oil painting or a smartphone snap.

6. Use Motion to BenefitObjects in motion are traditionally treated as a nuisance for photography. But it doesnt really have to be that. One needs to make the most of motion to click some awesome pictures. Panning can be done to create amazing motion blurs. Alternatively, a phone cameras slow capture can be actually advantageous to take great action shots.

7. Monotone is GoodIt is not necessary that pictures should have richly textured backgrounds. Many a times, pictures can also look strikingly great in black and white as well. If your camera has a monotone or a Black/White mode, then please do experiment with it. You can also try to strip the color quotient and increasing the contrast levels of images in your photo-editing software afterwards.

8. Try Different AnglesPictures can be made more interesting by clicking pictures form unusual and offbeat angles. Shoot from above, low, the side, backwards, inside-out whichever angle you can think of. The best part about taking pictures from a smartphone is that you seldom have to worry about storage space. Click multiple shots from numerous different angles and be prepared to delete almost all of them. The best pictures are ones which have creative experimentation in them. Wanna add any tips?? Or maybe even ideas?? Feel free to add your comments !!!HAPPY CLICKING !!
