HOW TO SKYROCKET IN
YOUR INTERNSHIP:
“Get to know your host organisation.
Do your research.Visit their company
website, their Facebook page, their
LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. Find out
who they are, what they do, and what
they stand for. Make sure to share all that
you know with your supervisor and
colleagues. This shows your interest in
your host organisation and your
appreciation for being accepted for an
internship.” Eriko Yanagisawa Internship Program Supervisor
“Even the small things are important.
Almost every internship starts with very
basic tasks. You may not always find
them interesting. This this as an
opportunity to show your host
organisation that you are capable of
completing every task given to you with
precision and positive attitude. Once you
have shown that you’ve mastered the
simple tasks, you will be given more
challenging duties.” Annika Paananen
Internship Program Supervisor
“Communication is key.
Open and honest communication is important in developing great
relationships. Having solid relationships within your host organisation is the best way to receive the support you need to
help you though any situation.” Izumi Davis
Internship Program Supervisor
“Take every opportunity to learn.
Try to learn something about everything,
and everything about something. Take in
as much knowledge as you can during
your internship, from anyone that’s willing
to share it. This is the best way to
discover what opportunities are out there
and help you to determine just what
direction you would like to take your
career.” Caroline Cooney Internship Program Supervisor
“Attitude is everything.
Be the type of person that you would love
to be around. And remember, you can’t
have a good day with a bad attitude, and
you can’t have a bad day with a good
attitude.”
Ruby Hall Internship Program Supervisor
“Be you, be sure you know what it is
you really want to do and do not accept
less than what your heart tells you in
all you do. Take time to stop and really
consider what is important and never
let go of these things.”
