How to Set Up Your Microscope for Remote Learning

Step 1: Install Software

1. Download LAS EZ.

2. Once downloaded, right-click the zip file and choose Extract all.

3. Double-click on LAS EZ.

4. Choose Install LAS EZ. Once the installer finishes, the application is installed.

Step 2: Select your Camera

STEP 2: EZ4 D/HD/E Camera Preparation 1. Plug in your microscope using the included power cable and turn on the main

power switch.

2. Connect your microscope to your computer by plugging in the included USB

cable.

3. Continue to Step 3 on Page 11 to configure the software.

Special Note: Once connected to your computer, your microscope will switch to PC

mode. During this time, both the included remote and ability to save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, hold the black multifunction button for 5 seconds.

STEP 2: DMS300/1000 Camera Preparation

1. Connect your microscope to your computer using the included USB cable.

2. Turn the microscope on and switch it to PC mode. Once the green LED on the

front of the microscope light turns on, the microscope is ready to use.


Special Note: When your microscope is in PC mode, the included remote and ability to

save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, toggle the switch back to HD Mode.

STEP 2: EC3/4 and MC120/170/190 HD Camera Preparation

1. Connect your camera to your computer using the included USB cable.

2. Turn the camera on and switch it to PC mode. Once the green LED turns on, the camera is ready to use.

3. Continue to Step 3 on Page 11 to to configure the software.

Special Note: When your camera is in PC mode, the included remote and ability to save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, toggle the switch back to HD mode.

STEP 2: ICC50 HD/W/E Camera Preparation 1. Connect your camera to your computer using the included USB cable.

2. Press the red power button. After approximately 30 seconds the camera will turn

on, displaying a green LED.

3. Press the USB Mode button. Once the green USB LED turns on, the camera is

ready to use.


Special Note: When your camera is in PC mode, the included remote and ability to save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, press the HD Mode button.

STEP 2: IC80 HD Camera Preparation

1. Connect your camera to your computer using the included USB cable.

2. Once the green LED turns on, the camera is ready to use.


Special Note: When your camera is connected to your PC, the included remote and

ability to save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, unplug the USB cable from the camera and connect the optional power pack.

STEP 2: IC90 E Camera Preparation 1. Connect your camera to your computer using the included USB cable.

2. Turn the camera on. After approximately 30 seconds the camera LED will turn

green.

3. Press the Mode button until the USB LED turns green.


Special Note: When your camera is connected to your PC, the included remote and ability to save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, press the Mode button until the HDMI LED turns green.

STEP 2: S9i Camera Preparation 1. Plug your microscope into your computer using the included USB cable.

2. After approximately 30 seconds the camera will turn on, displaying a green LED.

3. Press the Mode button until the USB LED turns green.

4. Continue to Step 3 on Page 11 to configure the software. Special Note: When your camera is connected to your PC, the included remote and

ability to save to an SD card will be unavailable. To exit PC mode, press the Mode button until the HDMI LED turns green.

STEP 3: Software Configuration

1. Right-click your desktop and select Display settings. Set your resolution is to 1920 x 1080 or lower. This will maximize readability.

2. Close out of Display settings and open LAS EZ.

3. Brightness, Gamma (contrast) and Saturation can be adjusted here:

4. Take a picture with the Acquire Image button.

5. You will be taken the Browse tab. From here you can view and rename your

pictures.

6. To annotate your image, click on the Process tab.

7. Return to a live image by clicking on the Acquire tab.

You are now ready to start sharing your class online!
