How to select the right label for right package?
• Labels need to adhere well and stay adhered for the full product lifecycle. Depending on the end-use, conditions during label application can be cold and humid, and the label may be exposed to moisture and water, chemicals and oils during the lifetime of the labelled product.
3
• Films have significant advantages compared to paper label faces. They retain their functionality, dimensional stability and visual appeal when exposed to humidity, water, chemicals, grease, oil and UV light.

Stunning looks - Stand out on store shelves to attract, intrigue and close the deal
• The brand message can be conveyed with an elegantly simple design or by making elaborate use of inks, foils and embossing
• With so many products competing for attention, the right choice of label film makes a game-changing difference to consumer decision-making and brand success

How to achieve the optimal no-label look?
• The ultimate no-label look is achieved with ‘clear-on-clear’ label stocks –that’s a thin, high-clarity label face with a clear adhesive carried on a film liner like PET.
• Choose the right face material based on the container type• Choose the liner• Choose the right adhesive

How to achieve the optimal no-label look?
• The ultimate no-label look is achieved with ‘clear-on-clear’ label stocks –that’s a thin, high-clarity label face with a clear adhesive carried on a film liner like PET.
• The film liner provides a smooth adhesive layer for tight and therefore clear contact with the labelled surface
7
• Compared to direct printing, the no-label look offers far greater scope for product differentiation and visual appeal. – Self-adhesives open up a much wider range of printing,
foiling and embossing techniques, and the print-work is of a higher quality.
• Self-adhesive labels also offer far greater flexibility and efficiency for managing container stocks

Choose the right material based on the container type
• VANISHTM The ultra-thin PET label face for glass and rigid containers is the ultimate replacement for direct screen printing
8
• PP presents a range of opportunities for an ultra-clear no-label look on rigid containers
• Raflex PRO supports a no-label look on contoured and semi-squeezable containers
• Raflex MDO escapes the haze of PE, introducing a no-label look for squeezable containers

Your role in food safety – Are your labels safe?
1. Ask for proof of compliance (DoC=Declaration of Compliance)
2. Choose partners who can demonstrate GMP in the food supply chain and who can prove compliance
3. Think about your labelling design– More information on the label doesn’t necessarily mean less space for branding;
Labelling solutions like peel&read offer many new opportunities for differentiation
• Food safety is the responsibility of everyone in the packaging supply chain. By meeting your legal obligations, you become a viable label supplier to the food industry, keep consumers safe, and protect yourself from product recalls and their potential repercussions.
• UPM Raflatac is committed to consumer safety‒ Wide range of innovative products with full compliance
