“Green Issues “

Portfolio : In groups collect information , then write a short article about how to save energy at home.

Pollution is growing day by day with every second passes,it is like bad dream not only destroying our environment but also ruining our Ecosystem and Life cycle. Recently we have seen drastic changes in our environment due to overgrowing pollution , if this pollution continues to grows like this then there will be no fresh air left out to breath . Most people face off from their duty towards environment by saying “ what we can do ? Its government jobs”. It’s not only government jobs to protect environment , we as an individuals have some responsibility towards our environment. As an individual, we may help our environment in reducing pollution by paying attention to some important points .

Some ways to protect our environment are :

1.Recycling

In many countries, recycling is taken seriously. They have one trash can for bags, one for glass, one for cans, one for boxes, one for plastic, one for paper, even one for decomposed food. Try disciplining yourself to recycling the necessities we use

when done. In daily routine , we do waste lots of stuff such as paper, plastic, metal and glass. This materials can be recycled . Learning to recycle and waste less is important for keeping our planet green. Often plastic shopping bags get used once and thrown away, but that bag can be used for future groceries or as a garbage bag. Batteries are filled with toxic materials that are terrible for the environment, so go green by buying batteries that you can recharge. There are also special companies

that will collect your old batteries and recycle them safely.

2. Use renewable energy sources: By using renewable energy as the primary power source, the reduction of pollution per household would be equivalent to that of planting 400 trees.

3. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs:   It is true that these bulbs are more expensive, but they last much longer and they can save energy. Also your electricity bill would be reduced.

4.Turn off your devices: When you do not use a house device, turn it off. For example, if you don't watch

TV, turn it off. Turn off the light when you leave a room (even if you intend to return.) It's an easy habit to take up which will help you save a lot of money.

5. Donate We have tons of clothes or things we want to get rid of. If they are still usable, give them to someone who needs them. You may also choose to give them to associations. These associations may sell them and collect a little money. Not only will you protect the environment, but you will also contribute to a good cause.

6. Pay attention to how you use water . The little things can make a big difference. Every time you turn off the water while you're brushing your teeth, you're doing something good for the environment.
