How to play UNO sight word game: Prior to play, print all of the following pages and cut into individual Uno sight word cards. Game set up : Give each player 5 cards. Place all other cards face down in a pile that will be used as the draw pile. To play : Turn over the top card in the draw pile and begin a new pile which will be the play pile. The first player should play a card which matches either the color or the number on the card placed in the play pile. When a player plays a card he/she must read the word on the card before play continues. Play continues, going around the circle, with each player matching either the color or number of the previously played card. Special Cards: Draw Two- The next player must draw two additional cards Skip- The next player’s turn is skipped Reverse- Order of play is reversed Wild- The player chooses what color the next player must match If a player is unable to match either the color or the number of the previous card played, he/she must draw a card from the draw pile. When a player gets down to just one card, he/she must say “UNO” while placing down his/her card. If the player forgets to say “UNO” and another player catches him/her, then he/she must draw two cards from the draw pile. If no one is out of cards by the time all of the cards in the draw pile are taken, simply reshuffle the cards in the play pile and continue play until someone is out of cards. The player who gets rid of all of his/her cards first wins the game.
