➢Tribe / Organization
➢What is your experience with microgrids, if any?
➢What is your biggest microgrid related challenge or need?
➢What do you want to learn today?
4
Microgrid Basics➢Microgrid Definition– A group of interconnected loads and distributed energy resources within
clearly defined electrical boundaries that acts as a single controllable entitywith respect to the grid. A microgrid can connect and disconnect from the grid to enable it to operate in both grid-connected or island-mode.
➢Microgrid Components and Technologies
➢Microgrid Applications
5
Do you need a microgrid? For what?➢What are your power supply threats?
➢How long and how frequent are your outages?
➢What essential community facilities need power?
➢Do these facilities have backup power? At what capacity?
6
