Endorsements

• Endorsements are something a driver can obtain once they have their CDL. It requires extra testing for each individual endorsement.

• Receiving endorsements on your CDL increases your value to a company, and can get you higher paying driving positions.

Tanker Jobs

• The X endorsement, which is a combination of the tanker and the hazmat endorsements is one of the most popular in the trucking industry.

• Tank drivers often haul propane, diesel, gasoline, chlorine, etc.

• Tanker positions are often local, meaning the driver is home daily.

• Are you interested in a tanker job?

Types of Loads

• Some loads are more valuable than others. For example, computer parts compared to soda pop. When looking for a job, know that companies who haul higher priced goods will pay their drivers more.

• Some companies pay their driver per load, instead of per mile. With the ability to pick up as many loads as available, you can control how much money you are making.

Making Money

• If earning pay per mile, more miles will equal more pay. Accepting as many loads as you can will increase your number of miles, which will increase the amount on your paycheck.

• Experience will also increase the amount you are paid. The more you drive, the more you earn.

• Staying with one company for a longer amount of time results in raises, which results in a larger paycheck.
