How to Join Google+

1. Go to http://plus.google.com and click on the “Join Google+” button in the top right hand corner.

2. Sign in with your Google or Gmail account. If you do not have a Google account, go to the “Create an Account” button.

3. Follow the instructions for signing up. When creating an account on Google, you need to type in your name, a username, password, your birth date (this is important because Google will not let anyone under 13 years old create an account), and an option to share your phone number (as a way to recover the Google account if you lose your password) and an alternate email (as another way to recover the Google account if you lose your password). You will also need to agree to the Google terms of service.

4. Now you have a chance to customize your profile.

Click on “Add profile photo” to help make yourself more recognizable on Google+.

5. After you add a profile photo, click on “Next step.”

You’ll see a welcome from Google and a note about your new email address.

a. You can also click in the top right-hand corner under a little version of your new profile picture to see additional controls to edit your privacy.

6. Your profile is created! Now it’s time to dig in and
