HOW TO INSTALL A INTEL CPU IN YOUR

COMPUTER

First determine what kind of CPU socket you have to determine which CPU to

purchase

This can be easily found out by running a program

called CPU-Z.

DETERMINE CPU

Then purchase your CPU heat

sink combo.

CPU AND HEAT SINK

Next is to remove your old heat sink by

unplugging the fan power cord.

Then either unclip or unscrew your old heat

sink.

OLD HEAT SINK REMOVAL

REMOVE HEAT SINK

After heat sink is off you will need to

release the socket lever and CPU cover.

RELEASE SOCKET LEVER

REMOVE CPU CHIP

Insert new CPU chip VERY CAREFULLY

not to damage any of the pins on the

bottom.

INSERT NEW CPU

CLOSE CPU HOUSING

If you receive a new heat sink then you will notice that it

comes preinstalled with thermal paste.

If using old heat sink then new

thermal paste must be applied or CPU

will overheat.

NEW HEAT SINK

Last thing to do is reinstall your heat sink and plug the fan power

cord back into the motherboard and enjoy

your new CPU!
