Import ing models from 3ds Max _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Download the 3ds Max plugin from www.cl3ver.com/pages/get-plugin/3dsMax

The download is a zipped archive. Extract the cl3ver.mzp plugin from it, and drag it anywhere onto a 3ds Max window.

A dialog should appear to say that a new menu has been created inside 3ds Max.

Open the model or scene you want to export from 3ds Max. We're using a free model of a tower block from ArchiBASE.net here.

  • 2/8

Select Open Scene from the CL3VER menu at the top of the screen.

The CL3VER dialog appears showing the status of the export process.

Once the process is complete, CL3VER should launch automatically. Select one of the presets and click Create to create a new project.

CL3VER automatically creates a new project for the model, complete with lights and cameras.

Import ing models from Maya _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Download the Maya plugin from www.cl3ver.com/pages/get-plugin/Maya

The download is a zipped archive. Extract c l3verLoader.py from it, and place it in your scripts directory. For Maya 2014, this will probably be in the location shown in the image below.

If you can't find your scripts director, or are using an older version of Maya, the online help file should tell you where to look. You can launch it by pressing [F1] on the keyboard.

Launch Maya. Open the Script Editor (Window > General Editors > Script Editor). In a new Python tab, type import c l3verLoader

  • 4/8

From the Fi le menu at the top of the Script Editor, select Save Script to Shelf .

A dialog will appear asking you to name the new Shelf item. Type CL3VER into the blank field.

The CL3VER icon should appear in the shelf. Click it.

A new menu entitled Cl3ver should be created in the top menu bar.

Now open the scene you want to export. We're using a free model of a house from TurboSquid. Select Export scene from the new Cl3ver menu.

Once the process is complete, CL3VER should launch automatically. Select one of the presets and click Create to create a new project.

Download the plugin that matches your operating system and the version of SketchUp you are using from www.cl3ver.com/plugins and follow the installation instructions provided for it.

(If you're using SketchUp 2014, download the SketchUp 8 edition of the plugin. The download is a zipped archive. Extract the files to SketchUp's ShippedExtensions directory. In Windows, the default path will be something like C:\Program Fi les (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\ShippedExtensions.)

  • 6/8

Open the model you want to export. We're using a free model of a parabolic dome from Google Warehouse.

In the Fi le menu, you should see a new option called Open in CL3VER. Select it.

Once the process is complete, CL3VER should launch automatically. Select one of the presets and click Create to create a new project.

Import ing models from Sol idWorks _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Install the latest version of the .NET framework, if you don't have it already. Download the SolidWorks plugin from www.cl3ver.com/pages/get-plugin/Sol idWorks

The download is a zipped archive. Extract the files and choose the appropriate installer:

    - Cl3verExporter_for_Sol idWorks_x64 if you're using a 64-bit operating system.

Launch SolidWorks. From the Tools menu, select Add-Ins.

The Add-Ins dialog opens. In the Other Add-ins section, check the box next to Cl3ver Exporter to activate it.

Open the model you want to export. In the Fi le menu, you should see a new Export to Cl3ver option. Select it.

Once the process is complete, CL3VER should launch automatically. Select one of the presets and click Create to create a new project. CL3VER automatically creates a new project for the model, complete with lights and cameras.
