HOW TO GUIDE – FINAL CUT PRO
In this guide I will be demonstrating how to use the basic editing tools of final cut
pro, most of which were used in our production.
I will be screen-grabbing the relevant editing methods by
using a short video that I found on YouTube.
To start piecing all of our footage together, we had to create a new project to then start putting them in order.
To do this you simply have to select ‘Create New Project’.
The line shown by the arrow is where the film is being played between each frame. Each frame is shown
where the numbers are directly above this line, spilt into sections.
To put footage into the frames where they can be edited, you simply hold the command key and select
the footage that you want from where arrow one is directed, into where arrow two is directed.

To bring up a variety of editing effects, simply right click where your footage begins and choose from a number of
editing options. We mainly editing our production by choosing from these options.
If you want to break the footage you are trying to converge into your production into smaller frames, making it more accurate,
simply drag the slider (labelled by arrow) to the left or right depending on how big or small you want the frames to be.
This wand tool gives you more editing options, some of which were used in our production.
Another tool that we used in our production was the black& white filter from the options, as well as the ‘cool tones’ effect to make the
image seem darkened. To access these filters, simply click on the option directed by the arrow, and all filter options will appear below.
