Know What They Want

• An important part of going about an interview is to analyse what the company is seeking in a candidate. Make a list of the skills, knowledge, professional and personal qualities that are required by the employer.

Company Research

• It will help you to prepare answering interview questions and to ask the interviewer questions. You will also be able to find out whether the company culture is a good fit for you.

Practice Your Answers

• Taking the time to practice answering the interview questions that you will probably be asked during a job interview will help give you calm your nerves, because you won't be hesitating while you're in the interview seat.

Know What They Could Ask You

• Review common job interview questions and answers and think about how you will respond so you are prepared to answer. Knowing what the person will ask you gives you a big advantage as you will know what to expect.

Don’t Wait Until The Last Minute

• Waiting till the last minute is a bad idea. If you lose or forget your notes or questions you will get worried and end being nervous for the interview. This will result in hesitation during the interview which will make the interviewer put off.

What Should and Shouldn’t You Bring?

• A folder with extra copies of your CV and Personal Statement, a list of references, and a list of questions to ask the interviewer. It's also important what not to bring - your phone, chewing-gum, or anything else other than yourself and your necessary items.

Know Where You’re Going!

• If you have a Sat Nav ask them their postcode so you don’t get lost. The worst thing that could happen is turning up late for your interview which will look bad on you because they will think you aren’t bothered.

Have Confidence!

• While in the interview seat have confidence and don’t look or act worried. Also do not hesitate as it will look better if you speak confidently. The interviewer wont want to hire someone that doesn’t seem to co-operate with confidence.
