How to Get Rid of Most Problematic Plants – Hydrilla
It is considered one of the most problematic plants when it comes with pond or lake management. This type of plant has a vertical slender stem that can be 50 up to 80mm long. Excessive growth can obstruct lots of recreational water activities. Once Hydrilla began to spread, it can be very difficult to control its population.
Hydrilla has a tough texture due to their spines and leaves that are connected down to its roots. It can grow in almost freshwater habitats specifically from a stagnant body of waters. This type of plant has the ability to adapt its environment and can grow without extreme exposure from the sunlight. Moreover, it is a competitive underwater plant that can grow deep from shallow waters.
There are four Different Developments to Reproduce Hydrillas are-
THROUGH SEEDS
Just like any other types of plants, they can spread and reproduce themselves due to their seeds.
THROUGH FRAGMENTATION
They can easily reproduce themselves through fragmentation. Those small fragments can sprout into a new Hydrilla.
THROUGH TUBERS
Reproduce as many as 6000 new plants. They can grow aggressively even if you make shades.
THROUGH TURIONS
Decided to get rid of this kind of unwanted plant while the turions were settled off in sediments, they can grow as new plants.
• There are many ways on how to get rid of hydrilla, you can cut them using mechanical weed removal tools, use herbicides or other chemical treatments, and biological approach.
• But for most individuals who want to make their aquatic weed control made easy, they uses the Jenson Lake Mower and Jenson Rake.
