How to Check Out Library Ebooks for Kindle
(For Kindle 1-3, DX, Touch and Keyboard)

A NOTE ABOUT PRIVACY
When you check out Library books for Kindle, Amazon will:
•Store your library card number in its database. •Track the books you check out for Kindle.
If you have concerns about Amazon using this information, do not check out Library Ebooks on your Kindle.
Getting Started
You will need:
•Your Kindle.•A computer connected to the internet•A USB cable to connect the Kindle to your computer.
Note: Some titles must be transferred via USB and cannot be transferred via wireless or Kindle apps.
On your computer, start at the JCPL homepage, jeffcolibrary.org. Click Find Library Books and More.
Click Download Center.
Under “Overdrive,” click Ebooks.
To find only checked in Ebooks, check “Only show titles with copies available” and click Submit.
Click Add to My eCart next to “Kindle Book.”
Click Proceed to Checkout.
Select your loan period. Click Confirm Check Out.
Click Get for Kindle. You will be taken to Amazon’s website.
Click Get library book.
Sign in to your Amazon account.
Select your Kindle from the dropdown menu, and click Continue.
If you have WiFi, and if wireless transfer is allowed by the publisher, the eBook will begin downloading immediately (library
eBooks do not work over 3G). If you don’t, click Download now to transfer via USB.
Connect your Kindle to your computer. Click Save File and OK.

Save the file to the “documents” folder on the Kindle. Click Save.
