for Kindle Direct Publishing Program (KDP)● Indent your first line two spaces
Formatting● Single spacing● Center alignment● Type title and name:
○ Title○ Subtitle○ Name
● Add page break○ “Control” “Enter”
● Under “Line Spacing” button in toolbar, click “Custom Spacing”, then “Add a Space After Each Paragraph”

● Make another page break (“Ctrl” “Enter”) to form the Dedication Page (example:“Dedicated To My Family”)
● Add another page break (“Ctrl” “Enter”)○ Table of Contents
● Add another page break○ Preface
● Add another page break○ Chapter 1
■ Highlight “Chapter 1” ● Click “Normal Text” button in toolbar● Click “Heading 1”
● To begin typing content, hit “Enter” and make sure your alignment is under the first indentation○ Type your content
Adding Page Breaks for ChaptersAfter creating your Chapter 1 heading and hitting “Enter”,make sure your indentation is over 2 spaces as it was originally.
Then, you may type your content.

When to Omit Table of ContentsIf you have a short book with a short Table of Contents, leave it out, Calibre will add it for you. You don’t want your preview on Amazon to be monopolized by a boring Table of Contents.
If you have an interesting Table of Contents that is part of your HOOK, leave it in.
