Why You Need Leadership Qualities?Nothing Succeeds Like Success

If you want to be successful in your desired field then having leadership qualities is

absolutely important. Certain leadership qualities are must have for a person from

any background if he or she wants to be successful.

Without a solid leadership quality, it is impossible to be successful in the present

world.

lives then you do not need to have any leadership qualities.

Leadership qualities are only for those people who want to dream big or make it big

in their life. If you are content with what you are doing then just leave it. It is not for

you.

Today people around the world do not find any leader who can inspire them. They

desperately need someone to follow.

If you become a successful leader, who can show them a light then you could

shape future of millions of people around the world.

So make yourself ready, to become a leader and set the trend for younger

generation.

Respect that You Get From the Society

Never forget, what you do, you get back same thing. If you are willing to give

something back to this society then you will definitely get back from the society.

You will earn a lot of respect from the people at large and this will further

encourage you to do more service to the society.

What are the qualities of a leader?Lead by an Example

The first quality of a leader that you would like to have is leading by an example.

Whether you work in an office, or a student in a classroom, or running a small

restaurant, you must lead your subordinates or juniors by an example.

You should not expect anything from them, if you are not doing the same thing

yourself. For example, if you want your juniors to be punctual then first, you should

come at time.

That is leading by an example.

Visionary

A leader must have a vision. Do not mistake that this article is only for those peoplewho want to be president of their country. No, not at all.

To have a great Vision is for everybody. Even as an individual you must be able to

foresee that what you might face in coming years.

There is a misconception among people that leaders are not accessible to common

man. However this is not true. You can only become a leader when you are down

to earth with no ego.

Even if you want to succeed in your career and rank high up to a managerial

position then you must treat your subordinates and juniors with respect and care.

A teacher

In the very beginning I talked about leading from the front. To lead from the front

you have to be like a teacher or a mentor. A leader is a person who can teach or

mentor his followers.

You have to guide your followers on every step. If you are unable to guide them

then you might not become successful because you will fail to channelize their

talent or energy.

An Orator

To communicate effectively with your followers or colleagues you have to be a good

orator. You must address your subordinates by giving them a lecture or a speech.

They must listen to you what you are saying. A good orator always spellbound his

audience. Hitler was an example.

Listening & Communication skills

Well! Someone said, it takes more courage to listen then to speak So to

communicate with your followers you do have to listen them.

Listening is more difficult than standing up and giving a speech. If you do not listen

others then the communication will only be one way.

Convincing and Motivating

After developing a communication both ways, orating and listening, you must be

able to persuade people. They must believe in what you are saying.

This must motivate people for a better future.

You have to assert yourself, it means that your juniors must obey your orders. It

simply implies you must be in a commanding position.

Control on your subordinates is very important.

Being assertive does not mean that you have to become an authoritarian. At times

you have to be flexible and co-operate with others when circumstances are against

you.

How to Develop Leadership Qualities?Here comes the most important thing, how would you become a leader.

AnOpportunity or a ChallengeFirst thing that makes a leader is a challenge. Every challenge is an opportunity.

You have to rise up to the channel. A successful leader is a person who can rise up

to the challenge.

Hence, you have to grab that as an opportunity to prove yourself that you can do it.

Yes I Can

Attitude

You have to believe in yourself that, yes you can do it. You can rise up to the

challenge and overcome it successful. You must have that level of confidence.

In second world war Britains prime minister Churchill rose up to the threat of Nazi

Germany and he succeeded.

Take Ownership of ProblemsYou have to take ownership of problems or a difficult situation. You must not run

away from a difficult situation.

There is good thing and bad thing about taking ownership. If you win then credit

goes to you but if you loose then blame also comes at you.

Lead from the Front

You must develop an attitude that come what may, you are going to lead from the

front. You will not be a captain who will leave his ship.

Innovate StrategiesInnovation is an intellectual property. Not every leader is intellectually sound. In fact,

this is the reason that many leaders led us to disaster. For example, Adolf Hitler

Hence you must have capability to innovate new strategies to overcome a

challenge. Solution to a problem is not written in a book, you have to find new ways

to solve it.

Build Rapportwith Every TeamMemberHere are certain key factors that you have to keep in mind.

Build rapport or personal relationship with your team members. You can take part in

their activities to boost their morale.

Assign Right Task to Right TeamMemberDelegating right task to right team member is imperative to be a successful leader.

You must know capability of every team member. According to their capability you

should assign tasks.

Right candidate should get right kind of job.

Concede Defeat & Learn FromMistakes

Finally, if you fail to meet up a challenge then you must be gracious enough to

concede the defeat. Denial is the biggest enemy or hurdle to become a successful

leader.

Learn from your mistakes and move forward. That is how you will become a top

class leader.

Bureaucratic leaders are those leaders who want to work within an existing system.

They necessarily do not want to change or challenge the system.

It means they are leaders who want to be part of status quo. Example is leaders in

Countries like China and India etc.

Pragmatic

Pragmatic leaders are those who are flexible. Meaning they have said something

else before but they could change their position according to the situation.

Barak Obama is very pragmatic president of USA.

Inclusive

Inclusive leaders are those who are more close to common man. They are always

among them, normally called mass leaders, accessible to the people.

Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela would fall in this category.

Mahatma Gandhi

His contribution was independence of India through peaceful means.

Abraham Lincoln

He contributed in abolishing slavery.

John F Kennedy

A patriotic leader of USA

Mao led the Chinese revolution

A Marxist and a brutal dictator however saved USSR from Nazi Germany.

Winston Churchill

A great leader who stood up against the German aggression in Second

World War.

Nelson Mandela

He fought for the rights of black in South Africa.

Present & Future Leadership Scenario in theWorld

The present leadership scenario in the world looks very bleak. We do not find any

single leader who could stand up to the challenges the world is facing today.

We need consensus among different countries on major issues like

1. Climate Change

2. Poverty

3. Security & Peace

But we do not see a leader that is capable enough to meet these challenges.

What is going to happen in future, we cannot say. Right now we dont find any true

leader.
