• Message to your kids: “A fire in this house can easily start!” Beware of the places in the house where fire can start. The kitchen, electrical outlets and the utility room are the most common places where fire starts.
Level 4: Effective
• Message to your kids: “A fire in this house can easily start!” Beware of the places in the house where fire can start: the kitchen, electrical outlets and the utility room.
• You would normally have about 3 minutes to get out of the house in the event of a large fire.
• If you happen to be there at the start of the fire, immediately call for help.
• I have placed a fire extinguisher near every location where a fire may start. Only mom or I should be using the extinguishers.
• You have to leave the house in case of fire. These are the three escape routes that you have: through the backyard, garage or front door (practice escaping)
• If you cannot see due to the smoke, lower yourself as much as possible and crawl out.
• If you happen to be caught upstairs and cannot escape through the doors, use this emergency escape ladder (this is how it works)
