How to create a UCC portal account

This manual will provide help and direction for new users of the Office of the Ohio Secretary of State

UCC online portal to create an account.

Sign Up

The following are a list of the steps to follow that are required to create an account.

To access the Account Creation page, click on the “Sign Up” button on the top right-hand side of

your screen.

Alternatively, if you have accessed the portal through the “Log In” screen, click the “Create Account

button in the middle of your screen.

How to create a UCC portal account

The account creation page will present itself. Please note any field with an * must be completed. To

enter information, click on the grey text in each field.

Login Name: Enter the name with which you want to log in to the portal for all future use.

Password: Enter a password for your log in name. It must contain 8-16 characters, 1 capital letter

and 1 number.

Confirm Password: Confirm the password by re-typing. The screen will indicate if you have entered

the password incorrectly.

First Name: Enter your first name.

Last Name: Enter your last name.

Email: Enter a valid email address to receive confirmation email and any further correspondence

from the portal.

Confirm Email: Confirm the email address by retyping. The screen will indicate if you have entered

the email incorrectly.

Phone Number: Please enter a phone in the valid format of (XXX)XXX-XXXX

Account Details The portal allows for an Account to be created, along with a user. The Account can have multiple

users associated with it.

Account Name: If you wish to add your user account to an existing corporation/organisation’s

account, please contact the Account Administrator. If you wish to create the account as a

standalone, please leave this field blank and the system will create the account using your First

Name and Last Name.

Address: Enter an address for the account.

City: Enter a city for the address.

State: Enter a State if mandatory.

Postal Code: Enter a Postal Code if mandatory.

Country: Select a Country from the drop list.

Submitting Once you have entered all mandatory data, click the submit button.

If no errors have occurred in processing the application you will receive a confirmation message.

An email should be sent to the account provided with a verification link.

Verification Check your email, once you receive the email from Office of the Ohio Secretary of State, please click

on the link or copy and paste the link into your web browser.

When you have successfully done this, you will receive the below screen. At this point you may click

the link contained in the pop up to login to your account.

Click the log in button on the user verification screen. Or go to:

https://ucc.sos.state.oh.us

Enter the Log In Name and Password used to create the account and click Login.

Once successfully logged in, your account dashboard will show.
