HOW TO CREATE A NEW POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

• First, open PowerPoint. The icon looks like this.

• You will see a screen similar to the one on the left.

• Select the tab that says “New”, then select the “Blank Presentation.

HOW TO CHANGE THE THEME OF THE SLIDES• Click the “Design” tab at the

top of PowerPoint. • Once in the design tab, you

will see a bar similar to what is below. Click on the design that you feel looks the best.

ADDING TEXT TO SLIDES

Click in the big boxes in your slide that you created. Type the material you want into said boxes.

HOW TO ADD IMAGES TO PRESENTATIONS• Click the “Insert” tab at the top of PowerPoint. • Click “Pictures”, “Online Pictures” or

“Screenshot”.• Once you click “Pictures” you will be prompted to

select a picture from a folder on your computer. • Select the picture that you want to add and it

will pop onto the slide. • Once the picture is on the slide, you can “crop”

or add different frames to said picture. Shown in the picture below.

HOW TO ADD TRANSITIONS BETWEEN SLIDES• Click on the “Transitions” tab at the

top of PowerPoint. • Select the slide that you want a

transition on. • Once you select the slide you want to

have a transition on, you can then choose from a wide variety of transitions, some examples are show in the picture below.

CREATING THE SLIDESHOWClick on the “File” tab at the top. Once in the “File” Tab you will see an options menu to the left. Click the “Save As” option. Save the file under a name that you can remember, and in a folder where you can find it, such as a folder named “PowerPoints”. Click the button that says “Save”.
