How to start [Configure] BSNL Broadband connection on Ubuntu

Step 1:

Go to your Network control panel.Follow steps : Taskbar >> System >> Administration >> Network.

Step 2:Then click on the Unlock button and then it will ask for Administratie password! "nter your

#assword. and click Authenticate so that it will unlock the locked features.

Step 3:

$lick on %ired connection and then its properties! it will show you &$onnection settin' tab(select &Automatic confi'uration )*+$#,( from the list and click -.

Step 4:

Select #oint to #oint connection! and 'o to its properties. /t will pop up the pppo properties.

$heck the &"nable this connection(! and select &###o" connection type( and "nter theaccount data )Username and #assword,in specified bo0es!

Step :Go to 1odem tab from same %indow! select the "thernet interface )Generally the eth2,

Go to option tab select all check bo0es. and then -. and close.

Now eerytime you want to connect to net! 3ust click on 4AN /con on taskbar and 'o to *ialUp connections and click on $onnect to ppp-e ia modem and 'et connectiiy.

So now 3ust start your Firefo0 and start browsin' the internet from your Ubuntu.

Note: This 'uide is for 4AN connection only! and not for the US5 connections as manymodem manufacturer doesnt proide driers for 4inu0 ersions.

i know easiest way settin' up bsnl broadband connection in Ubuntu any ersion of Ubuntuthe process is same

6.First open terminal in Ubuntu7. type this sudo pppoeconf and press enter

8. then a setup wi9ard opens inside terminal it will scan show u that it found pppoe deice!

select yes with arrows on ur key board and prees enter.then it wilk ask u to wther to modify the confi'uration file select yes;.then it wiil 'ie some thin' re'ardin' some popular options select yes

<. now it ask u to enter username! enter your username that ur bsnl broadband 'ae u=. now enter ur broadband password

. then it will ask u some thin' about *NS select yes?.then it will show re'ardin' 1SS select yes

62. now done window shows up select yes66. it will show u commands that u should use for connectin' and disconnectin' internet



67. connection installed window shows up select ok

thats it ur ready to use ur internet! when u want to connect to internet open ur terminaltype )sudo pon dsl@proider,! when u want to disconnect type )sudo poff,! one more thin'

some times when start computer it automatically connects to internet and some time itwont so when it doesnt connect automaticlly open ur terminal first type sudo poff! it will

ask u for password type ur password! and close ur terminal and open it a'ain type sudo pondsl@proider! it will connect .for clear understandin' 'o to youtube and search itassitant )username, he made ideo for
