Step One: Find YourPumpkinOh, look! There are some!
Step Two: Bring themhomeBuckle them up to keep them safe
Step Three: Cut topoff the pumpkinDraw outline with Sharpie markerCut carefully with serrated blade
Step Four: Pull off lid
Pull the top off, being mindful that it doesnt fall into the pumpkin
Step Five: Clean lid,set asideMake sure that your lid doesnt accidentally get thrown out!
Step Six: Scoop outthe gutsMake sure your sleeves are rolled upUse either a spoon, or just your hand
Step Six cont.: GetALL the gutsThis part is gross, important, and fun!
Step Seven: Draw thedesign and carveYou can freestyle with Sharpie, and remove with acetone or rubbing alcoholYou can also use a template printed off the WebRemember that it doesnt have to be perfectBe careful with your blades!
Step Eight: Pullpieces outGently pull the pieces out, using a tool or fork to aid you
Step Eight Alternative:Push the pieces inGently push the pieces into the hollow pumpkin, then retrieve through the top and discard
Step Nine: FinishingtouchesClean off the Sharpie with acetone, and put your lid back onFind small tea light candles to go inside
Step Ten: Light thecandleUse a long lighter for thisEither light through the top, or carefully through the mouth
FINAL STEP: ENJOYPlace in a dark room, or even betteroutside! Place them on a bench, on your front steps, or around your mailbox
