How to Apply a Body Wrap - Instructions

Warning Information

Almost anyone should be able to have a wrap but if you have a medical problem,

circulatory problems, heart disease, low or high blood pressure, diabetes, or other

disease, check with your doctor first. It is recommended that you consult with a

doctor before beginning any weight loss or inch loss program.

Do not perform a wrap if you are pregnant, nursing, menstruating or are

constipated.

Test patch a small area of the skin prior to use to check for allergic reaction.

Keep out of reach of children.

Not for internal consumption.

External use only.

PREPARING FOR THE BODY WRAP

1. Being well prepared before you begin will make for a more relaxing, enjoyable home

spa experience.

2. It is best to gather everything you need and have it ready for each step of the body

wrap treatment. Plan about an hour and a half for a full body wrap from start to

finish. The first wrap may take longer as you still try to learn the procedure.

3. Be sure to apply the body wrap in an easily-cleanable area of your house, if you have

a body wrap warming oven then possibly the bathroom is best, however if you’re

using the stovetop to warm your solution and wraps then consider wrapping in the

kitchen.

4. Make sure you have your sauna suit (or other warm, comfortable, loose clothing) to

hand so that you can pop it on once you’ve finished applying the wraps. Also make

sure that (if you’re planning to relax) that any CD or DVD is in the player ready

and/or that your book is to hand before you start wrapping – it’s much easier to

bend down and insert a DVD to the player before you’ve applied the wraps.

5. Having a friend around to help with the wrapping is an advantage – it makes

applying the wraps easier, but it’s not essential, most people manage OK on their

own.

Tip: Check out Sara’s videos on the Wrap Yourself Slim website before you do your first

wrap.

Tip: Be sure to visit the restroom before applying the bodywrap!

Step 1: Preparing the Formula and Heating the Wraps

If you are using cotton/elastic wraps (not plastic wraps), start by preparing the warm

water or formula for soaking the wraps in your Wrap Yourself Slim Warming Oven. If

you don’t have a body wrap warming oven you can use a roaster oven, a slow

cooker, crock pot or even in a pot on the stovetop.

Pour 1 - 2 gallons (4-8 litres) of water into your heating unit using enough liquid to

cover the wraps. If you are using a special formula such as the Wrap Yourself Slim

Herbal Formula or Aloe Vera Formula add the liquid concentrate at 1/2 cup per gallon

of water or as directed on the container. Add the cotton/elastic wraps, still rolled,

soaking completely, and heat to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius).

Tip: If you have excess liquid formula after the wrap it can be refrigerated for up to

one week and re-used. This will allow you to get more wrap sessions from a single

cup of solution.

Note: Not all body wrap kits come with liquid formula. In this case use plain warm

water.

Note: Dry clays such as Wrap Yourself Slim European Dry Mineral Clay should be

added to warm water to form a solution. Follow the directions on the container.

Step 2: Preparing Yourself

Choose a location to perform the wraps where you can stay warm while wrapping.

Adjust the air conditioning accordingly so that you do not feel a chill while wrapping.

Dress appropriately wearing a bikini bathing suit or similar undergarments.

Step 3: Taking Your Measurements

Use the Wrap Yourself Slim Measurement Chart as a guide for where to measure and

to record initial measurements and results after each wrap.

Each time you measure be sure to stand in the same position. Relax the muscles, be

sure to use the same tension on the tape measure each time, and measure in the

exact location on the body.

Mark above and below the tape to be sure to measure in the same spot after the

wrap.

Record before and after for a series of wraps and watch the total inches decrease!

Step 4: Dry Skin Brushing

Using the Wrap Yourself Slim Dry Skin Brush prior to the body wrap will remove all the dead

skin cells from the surface of the skin, stimulate the sweat glands, stimulate the blood

circulation and open up the pores. This enables the body wrap formula to penetrate more

thoroughly and effectively. Skin brushing tones and tightens the skin and drastically reduces

cellulite deposits. It improves your overall general health. People tend to lose weight faster

and more evenly over their entire body when skin brushing is included in their weight loss

and body wrap program.

How to Skin Brush:

Starting at the ankles, brush in a circular motion up the ankle and leg, always brush

toward the heart.

Brush vigorously but not so much as to damage the skin.

Pay special attention to the cellulite areas.

It is best to stand while brushing to help with circulation during this procedure.

If you do not have a dry skin brush perform your regular exfoliation routine at this point.

PERFORMING THE BODY WRAP

Step 5: Applying Clay or Mud to the Skin

Apply a thin layer of the Clay or Mud directly to the skin area where you wish to

reduce inches, the appearance of cellulite or stretch marks.

Apply on one section of the body at a time, and then wrap that section before

applying clay to another section. For example, apply clay to one leg, then wrap the

leg, then apply clay to the other leg, then wrap. Check out the instructions on how to

use the wraps in the next section.

Tip: The clay or mud is not mixed along with the liquid formula where the wraps are

soaked. Clay or mud is applied directly over the skin.

Tip: Some people who have bought kits including different muds and clays get

confused on which mud or clay to use. You are free to decide which one to use –

read the product label to understand the benefits. Try each product during a different

body wrap session.

Note: Dry clays such as Wrap Yourself Slim European Dry Mineral Clay should be

added to warm water to form a solution. Follow the directions on the container.

Step 6: Wrapping the Area

For Using Cotton/Elastic Wraps:

Use kitchen or cleaning type gloves to remove the wraps from the heated solution a

few at a time and wring out the excess water.

It is a good idea to have a container to hold the wraps once removed from the liquid

and before wrapping the body so that you can remove several at a time.

Always begin wrapping at the ankles or furthest from the heart wrapping upward or

toward the heart.

Wrap firmly, but not too tight to cut off circulation.

Each wrap should be tucked in at the end and overlapped with the next wrap

covering all areas completely.

Tip: The wraps must be applied as warm as can be tolerated. If you feel that they

are too hot, you can let them stand for a while until tolerable.

For Using Plastic Wraps:

Plastic wraps can also be used to wrap areas where sea clay or sea mud is applied to

the skin. The benefit of using plastic wraps is that they are easier to use if you are

wrapping yourself and you can still get terrific results! It is also much easier to clean

up because you can simply throw it away when it is removed.

Plastic wraps should only be used for partial wraps or spot treatments.

The disadvantage of plastic wraps is that you do not get the added benefit of the

liquid solution and you do not get the compression that cotton/elastic wraps give

which help to squeeze out the toxins from the skin cells typically providing better

results.

Tip: Plastic wraps are not soaked in liquid solution or warmed prior to application.

Simply apply the plastic wraps on top of the sea mud or sea clay from the farthest

area and work towards the heart.

Page 6: How to Body Wrap

Step 7: Continuing the Wrap

Repeat steps 5 & 6 until you have wrapped all of the areas of the body you will be

treating.

You can wrap the entire body or spot treat one section at a time. Wrapping the entire

body will take approximately 15 cloth wraps (more or less depending on your body

size).

Step 8: Staying Warm

Put on Wrap Yourself Slim Sauna Suit or Sweat Suit or cover up with a warm

blanket.

Stay in the wraps for 45 - 60 minutes.

To enhance results you can also perform light exercises (a balance ball works great

or any type of slow controlled movements such as yoga or walking on a treadmill or

stair climber).

IMPORTANT: Never wear the sauna suit in a sauna, steam room or hot tub as this

could cause heat stroke or other dangerous health conditions. If you start to feel

overly hot, nauseous or any other discomfort, STOP and REMOVE the Suit

immediately.

IMPORTANT: Drink lots of water during the body wrap session to stay hydrated.

Don’t worry – this won’t impact your inch loss!

Step 9: Removing the Wraps

Slowly remove the wraps and wipe off any excess residue with a moist cloth. It is

best not to shower for 6 to 8 hours after the wrap to allow the formula to continue to

work.

Applying the anti-cellulite lotion after the wrap will enhance the effects and also help

reduce excess residue from the surface of the skin.

Note: the wraps are reusable and can be washed in hot water and hung to dry.

Step 10: Taking Measurements Again

Once you’ve removed the wraps don’t forget the most exciting part – measuring again and

adding up your inch loss!

Be sure to measure in the exact places you measured before wrapping by following

the marks.

Record the results on the chart and calculate your inch loss.

Most people will see greater results after a series of wraps.

Congratulations! Now follow the “Rules for Keeping the Inches Off” for helping the toxins

to be removed from the body and to keep the inch loss off.

OTHER HELPFUL GUIDELINES

Spot Treatments

Spot treatments are easier for most people to do on their own. You can choose any

area to focus on.

Wrap lower body one day and upper body the next. To wrap the neck/chin area, pull

back hair or use a shower cap. Apply a thin layer of the formula to the skin. Start at

the top of the head, wrap and bring to down under the chin and back around.

Cloth/Elastic Wraps vs. Plastic Wraps

The choice of whether to use plastic wraps or cloth/elastic wraps is yours to make.

Take note that with cloth/elastic wraps, more preparation time and clean-up time

is needed. Cloth/elastic wraps are soaked in hot water or a hot liquid solution prior to

application so that they are applied warm on the skin on top of the sea clay or sea

mud. They are also to be washed after the wrapping session so that they can be re-

used.

Cloth wraps leave more room for the skin to breathe during the body wrap session,

which is why they are recommended over plastic wraps if you desire to do a

complete or a full body treatment.

Plastic wraps should not be soaked or heated prior to application. Just the same,

they are applied over the skin on top of the sea clay or sea mud. Aftercare only

involves taking them off and disposing them as plastic wraps cannot be reused.

Plastic wraps work well for those who want to do spot treatments.

Wrapping with Cloth/Elastic Wraps without the Liquid Formula

You may choose to forego the use of the liquid formula, which is fine.

You will still have to heat the cloth/elastic wraps prior to application. To this, simply

immerse the wraps in hot water.

Allow the wraps to absorb the water and once ready, use kitchen or cleaning type

gloves to remove the wraps from the water a few at a time while wringing out the

excess water.

Apply the wraps on your skin over the sea clay or sea mud as you would in Step 5.

Rules to Keep the Inches Off!

Do not eat anything after 6:30 pm.

Do not shower for at least 6 to 8 hours after the wrap. The ingredients still continue

to work on the body even after the wraps are removed.

Do not drink alcoholic beverages; limit your salt, sugar & caffeine intake. Avoid

carbonated beverages and starches.

Do not use soaps, lotions or creams prior to the wrap or for 4-6 hours after the wrap.

The body wrap solution is still working.

Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to flush the toxins and impurities out of your

system.

Cut down on animal fats, (Red Meat and Dairy). Fiber and complex carbohydrates

are ideal substitutes because they are easily digested and assimilated by the body.

Continue with the wrap treatment program and some form of exercise

program.
