A. Generating the License
Dlink Team identifies the current license• Accesses the unit via SSH• Identifies the relevant USB port and device• Runs command to produce license output
# lsusbBus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 001 Device 002: ID e4e4:1162Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
# lsusbBus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 001 Device 002: ID e4e4:1162Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
![Page 15: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
B. Activating the License
We will need to generate the License
After generating the license customer has to send a mail to D-LinkTeam
D-Link will verifies license output and will generates new license andsend the new generated license
![Page 16: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
C. Implementing the License
Dlink team will accesses the unit via SSH or the customer can do thelicensing
Pastes the content of the updated license file in the command line
Reset the unit
New ports are now activated, but will need to be configured and testedprior to operation
![Page 17: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Generating D-Link Licenses
Use the following procedure to activate digital ports and newanalog modules. The process will update the unit’s firmwarewith a relevant software license unique to the D-Link device athand.Stage 1: Determining the Existing License for the D-LinkUnit
1. Access the Asterisk server via SSH protocol.2. Use the following command to see which USB devices are connected:# lsusb then press Enter
Here is a sample result:Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000Bus 001 Device 002: ID e4e4:1162Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
![Page 18: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID thatbegins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2 above, we would indicate Bus= 001 and Device = 002.
4. Use the following command to receive a listing of the current license of theunit:# astribank_allow –D /proc/bus/usb/[Bus #]/[Device #]then press Enter
As per our example in step 2 above, our command line would be:# astribank_allow –D /proc/bus/usb/001/002
5. On the screen which appears, copy all text to the clipboard.
The text begins with---------BEGIN XORCOM LICENSE BLOCK---- and ends with-----END XORCOM LICENSE BLOCK---------6. Save this output in a file named license.txt.
![Page 19: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Stage 2: Ports/Functionality
1. Its time send an email with the below detailsa. Check the modules/ports/functionality that you want to add tothe unit
b. Include the license.txt file you generated in the previous step
2. D-Link will verify the license output and generate a newlicense as per your purchase order called new-license.txt.
![Page 20: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Stop Asterisk using the following command:/etc/init.d/asterisk stop
Stop DAHDI using the following command:/etc/init.d/dahdi stop
Use the following command to apply the updated license to the unit:# astribank_allow –D /proc/bus/usb/[Bus #]/[Device #] –w
then press Enter
Paste the contents of the new-license.txt file you received from D-Linkinto the command line.
press Enterthen press “Ctrl+D‟
![Page 21: How to Assemble and License D-Link Products€¦ · 3. Mark down the Bus # and the Device # for the USB device with an ID that begins “e4e4:116”. As per our example in step 2](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022011820/5ea1f9a93a2174557d483d3d/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Next, you will need to restart the D-Link firmware.DAHDI users should run the following command:
/usr/share/dahdi/xpp_fxloader reset
Now start Dahdi and Asterisk
/etc/init.d/dahdi start/etc/init.d/asterisk start
No to Detect Module/var/lib/asterisk/bin/detect_zap
The new ports are now activated, but will need to be configured andtested prior to use.
