But there is another side of the story
that involves great tragedy and suffering
for many more thousands of Georgians . . .
Pre-Teens, Teenagers, Young Adults,
and Adults who are addicted to
THC . . .
Addiction is only one of many
negative effects of the THC in marijuana.

The costs of
increasing supply
via in-state cultivation
and manufacturing,
as well as their regulation
will have to be financed
by increased demand and use,
putting more Georgian’s in harm’s way
from the harmful effects of
THC.

5% THC Oil is Much Stronger than Most People
Realize
• 5% THC Oil contains about 5 grams of THC in 100
milliliters of oil.
• 1 milliliter of oil contains about 50 milligrams of THC. ▪ In Colorado the maximum standardized serving of THC in
an edible is 10 milligrams, enough to cause intoxicating
effects in many who have not built up a tolerance to THC.
▪ 1 teaspoon = about 5 milliliters
▪ 4 drops (from a standard medicine dropper) of 5% THC oil
contain approximately 10 mg of THC.
Even small amounts of 5% THC Oil may get a person high and, taken
on a daily basis will be addictive for many.

The above information has been verified by SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana)
and The Phoenix Sciences Group, LLC and two other laboratories.

Just like alcohol is alcohol no matter what form it’s in,
So THC is THC no matter whether you swallow it or smoke it:

Per HB 65 the Commission will also be
studying “Medical Cannabis”
9
“Medical Cannabis” can mean just about anything
“Medical Cannabis” can mean anything from THC oil to whole plant marijuana or
marijuana concentrates (also called extracts or derivatives) containing up to 98%
THC.
In other states which have legalized “Medical Cannabis” it comes in the form of
candies and cookies. Obviously this goes way beyond legalizing THC oil at a
maximum of 5%.
“Medical Cannabis” Concentrates are now legal in some other states

Jean Felts, a mother from Fayette
County, lost her son Joseph, who,
like many others, progressed from
marijuana to marijuana extracts to
opioids.

Addiction

Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA)
Approximately 16% of adolescents who ingest marijuana on
a regular basis become addicted. This figure is 9% for adults.

Peer-Reviewed Research shows
Marijuana Use is associated with
Opioid Use.
It’s not a solution to
the Opioid Crisis.
16
What is a “Medical Dispensary?”
A Medical Dispensary is essentially a place where
non-FDA approved marijuana products are sold.
Would you want a Dispensary
(Medi-Pot) Shop in your hometown?

What We Do:
Our advocacy efforts focus on protecting all of Georgia’s children, teens,
adults, communities and workplaces, and empowering them to protect themselves
from the destructive effects of any form of marijuana lacking the approval of
reputable medical associations.
The Mission of Let’s Get Clear Georgia is:
To promote advocacy and other collaborative efforts using best practices and
policies to prevent the expansion of “medical” marijuana legalization lacking the
approval of established medical associations as well as to prevent recreational
legalization in Georgia.
The Vision of Let’s Get Clear Georgia is:
A Georgia free from the destructive effects of the use, misuse, abuse of, and
dependence on marijuana in any form lacking the approval of established medical
associations.
