How do I install CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software for Non-FORUM use? ZEISS Quick Help: CIRRUS™ HD-OCT

Before performing a new installation of CIRRUS™ HD-OCT Review Software, be sure that your exam lane review station computers have read/write access to the location where your CIRRUS HD-OCT instrument is archiving data. Also, refer to the document Appendix: Installing CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software to ensure compatibility between your computer operating system, the CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software and the CIRRUS instrument.

Software Media Package

To install CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software, you must first order and receive the CIRRUS HD-OCT Software Media Package, which contains two USB drives to complete installation of the software. The USB drives will be labeled SW [Software] and UD [User Document] (Figure 1).

Installation

Insert the SW drive into any open USB port on your exam lane review station computer, click the Windows Explorer folder icon located in the menu bar (Figure 2), and then click Computer on the far left (Figure 3).

In the next window, you will see the CIRRUS drive listed with the software version number; double click the icon (Figure 4), and then double click the setup.exe icon (Figure 5) to begin installation of your CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software.

When the Welcome Screen appears, click Next (Figure 6), accept the terms of the agreement (Figure 7) and click Next.

If you are NOT using FORUM® Data Management software from ZEISS:

Select CIRRUS Review – Instrument Mode (Figure 8). When the installation is complete, click Finish (Figure 9). Your computer will automatically reboot.

Connecting the CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software to your CIRRUS HD-OCT instrument

After your computer reboots, begin connecting the CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software to your CIRRUS HD-OCT instrument by logging back into your Exam Lane Review Station using your Windows login.

Double click the CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software icon to launch the program. The CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software will show a database connection failure message, asking if you want to specify a database with which to connect your CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software (Figure 10). Click Yes; a browse window will open.

Find your CIRRUS instrument’s database to connect your Review Software using the CIRRUS instrument's computer name. Walk over to the CIRRUS instrument screen and find its computer name. To do this, select the Logout command in the top right corner of the CIRRUS instrument to access the desktop. An archive prompt will appear. Click Close to return to the desktop; do not click Archive. Click the Explorer folder icon from the menu bar (Figure 2), then right click Computer (Figure 3) and select Properties. Find and make note of the computer name listed, e.g., SAMPLE CIRRUS (Figure 11).

Return to the exam lane review station computer and using the same opened browse window, click Network on the far left side of the screen window. Locate the name of the CIRRUS HD-OCT instrument computer noted earlier and double click the corresponding icon, e.g., SAMPLE CIRRUS. (Figure 12).

You may or may not see a prompt for a username and password (Figure 13). If prompted, enter the username and password noted below (all letters are case sensitive), check the box Remember my credentials and click OK. Did you know: The password is the date Carl Zeiss first went into business.

User name: Zeiss Password: November171846

Note: If the "Zeiss" username has been changed or removed, it may be necessary to consult with your local IT professional for additional assistance.

Double click first on the sdoct folder (Figure 14), and then on the Database folder (Figure 15).

Locate and double click the ZDB.ib file within the Database folder (Figure 16), and when prompted, re-launch the CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software by double clicking the CIRRUS HD-OCT icon on the desktop.

Note: If you receive the error message Unlicensed CIRRUS instrument (Figure 17), it means that the license on the CIRRUS HD-OCT instrument has not been activated. Contact ZEISS technical support at 1-800-341-6968 further assistance.

Using your CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software

To begin, using your CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software, log in with the drop down username: Cirrus operator. A password is not required; you may leave that field blank.

Recommended: To ensure the CIRRUS HD-OCT Review Software is correctly installed, conduct a simple test. Open any existing patient record, select the Find Existing Patient tab, type in the patient name and verify that the record can be seen.
