DESCRIPTION

These are my old notes on how to teach us not to pray for money the way we do today! God does not use money and works directly with things He created or things His creation makes

Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? (25) He saith, Yes. Old Testament Example• 2 Kings 4:1-7 KJV • (1) Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of

the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. (2) And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. (3) Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

Page 10: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Old Testament Example• 2 Kings 4:1-7 KJV • 4) And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the

door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. (5) So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. (6) And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. (7) Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Elijah Fed By Gods Creation• 1 Kings 17:1-24 KJV • (1) And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the

inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. (2) And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, (3) Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. (4) And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

Page 12: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Elijah Fed By Gods Creation• 1 Kings 17:1-24 KJV • (5) So he went and did according unto the

word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. (6) And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. (7) And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Even with the Widow it was God’s Creation

• 1 Kings 17:1-24 KJV • (8) And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, (9)

Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. (10) So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. (11) And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. 12) And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse:

Page 14: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Even with the Widow it was God’s Creation

• 1 Kings 17:1-24 KJV • and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and

dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. (13) And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. (14) For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. (15) And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. (16) And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

It Seems God Multiplies What We give him

• God multiplies what's in the house even in the feeding of the 5000 & 4000.

• Jesus uses what was brought by a boy in one case

• Then the principle of multiply what comes from Gods creation is echoed here as well

Page 16: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Feeding the Five Thousand

• Matthew 14:15-21 (NKJV) • When it was evening, His disciples came to

Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” 16 But Jesus said to them, “ They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” 17 And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” 18 He said, “ Bring them here to Me.”

Page 17: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Feeding the Five Thousand

• Matthew 14:15-21 (NKJV) • 19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit

down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. 21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Page 18: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Feeding the Four Thousand

• Matthew 15:32-38 (NKJV) • Feeding the Four Thousand • 32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself

and said, “ I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” 33 Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”

Page 19: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Feeding the Four Thousand

• Matthew 15:32-38 (NKJV) • 34 Jesus said to them, “ How many loaves do you

have?” • And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” • 35 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the

ground. 36 And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. 37 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. 38 Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

How Does God Prosper His People

• Deuteronomy 8:18-20 KJV • (18) But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God:

for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (19) And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. (20) As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

Page 21: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

If you prayed to God for money Today How will He Answer

•  The world was formed by the invisible realm there fore to create what is visible it must start with the invisible. When you pray God gives Ideas etc but most of us miss out on that and are looking for the literal money

• (Malachi 3:10 KJV) • Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that

there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Open Heavens?• “And the Heavens were opened” as we

spoke last about using biblical definitions and concepts to explain prophecies visions and dreams in the prophecy about champions another interesting concept could be found in the concept of open heavens.

• Bishop Tudor Bismarck of Zimbabwe said Worship and Revelation go together in that God inhales worship and exhales revelation.

Page 23: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Open Heavens?• Matthew 3:13-17 • 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the

Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” 15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. 16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Page 24: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Open Heavens?• He also said that when the bible declares that the

heavens opened over Jesus at His baptism the Heavens were opened and it clearly showed that new dimensions of God and he power of Heaven were opened to him and His ministry.

• Notice the Heavens were opened to Him [Just because the heavens are opened does not mean they are opened to everyone.]

• It is significant to notice that up till that time He had not performed a miracle, yet He pleased God. How do we, today, know a man who pleases God? Miracles, signs and wonders!

Page 25: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Solomon• 2 Chronicles 1:6-13 KJV • (6) And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar

before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it. (7) In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. (8) And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. (9) Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. (10) Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

Page 26: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Solomon• 2 Chronicles 1:6-13 KJV • (11) And God said to Solomon, Because this was in

thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: (12) Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like. (13) Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

Page 27: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Concept

• Matthew 6:33-34 KJV • (33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God,

and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

• (34) Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil there

Page 28: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Miracles are signs from God•  But signs do not take you to a destination • Mark 16:17-20 KJV • (17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In

my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (19) So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (20) And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

We make our money from Men

• But you must have something of VALUE to exchange • Luke 19:11-27 KJV • (11) And as they heard these things, he added and

spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. (12) He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. (13) And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. (14) But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

Page 30: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

We make our money from Men

• Luke 19:11-27 KJV • 15) And it came to pass, that when he was

returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. (16) Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. (17) And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. (18) And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

We make our money from Men

• Luke 19:11-27 KJV • (19) And he said likewise to him, Be thou also

over five cities. (20) And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: (21) For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. (22) And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

We make our money from Men

• Luke 19:11-27 KJV • (23) Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into

the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? (24) And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. (25) (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) (26) For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.(27) But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

(9) Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Empower the Saints• Notice its after you are saved that you need to be

equipped   • Ephesians 4:11-16 KJV • (11) And he gave some, apostles; and some,

prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Page 37: How Did Jesus Deal With Money & Man Made Things

Empower the Saints• Ephesians 4:11-16 KJV • (14) That we henceforth be no more children,

tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
