How can we help you on your Road Test?On your road test, what would you like your examiner to do?

Any Questions?

Is it OK to have the stereo on? Can I have the window down? Can I wear sunglasses? What happens if I turn the wrong way? Is it OK to take one hand off the wheel

to scratch my nose for a second? If I get stressed out, can I pull over for

a minute? I don’t know the street names, is that

going to be a problem? Can I ask about parking?

About your Road Test…

• Do you have any questions for your examiner? The best time to ask is before you start the test. Your examiner will be happy to answer any questions.

• Your examiner will tell you at the start of your test what you’ll need to do.

• Don’t worry, you won’t be asked to do anything illegal. Your examiner won’t try to trick you.

• You’ll get lots of warning for turns. If your examiner doesn’t tell you to turn, just follow the road you’re on.

• Not sure what you’re being asked to do or where you’re going? Just ask.

We think these tips might help.• Always keep to the posted speed limit. Watch out for school and

playground zones.

• When you turn right, shoulder check on your right to see if there are any cyclists, pedestrians or other road users.

• Make a full stop at stop signs and red lights. When it’s safe to pull out, go slowly and make sure you scan the intersection.

• Changing lanes or direction? Make sure you mirror check, signal and shoulder check.

• Always keep a safe distance from other road users.

• Scan the intersection before you drive through — even if the light is green.

• When merging on a highway, use the acceleration lane to get up to the speed of the highway traffi c — but don’t go over the speed limit. Then merge when it’s safe.

• Drive according to road conditions.

• If you have questions, ask us!
