The butterflies come to food bowls and feed. The bowls have lids with holes. There is yellow around the holes so the butterfly thinks they are flowers.

The farmers put special juice in the food bowls. They put the bowls next to special plants.

The male and female butterflies mate.
Breeding
The females lay eggs on leaves. They lay on the caterpillar food plants. These are the plants near the food bowls.

Workers collect the eggs every day. Then they take the eggs to a room called the ‘lab’ so they are safe. They do this because some wasps attack butterfly eggs.
