Membership Dues
On Saturday, October 10th, at 5:00 p.m. your dedicated board members will be serving a light buffet of smørrebrød (Dan-ish sandwiches), wine and cheese, and cof-fee pastries at the Cottage for all the mem-bers who are able to come.
We hope to see everyone for a nice, infor-mal get-together and a chance to share important information about the House of Denmark. - We promise to keep that part short.
Feel free to bring your kids. We’ll make sure that there are LEGO blocks and games available for them.
We look forward to seeing you!

On September 2nd, Andreas Mogensen became the first Dane and just the sec-ond Scandinavian, to enter space.Mogensen and two cosmonauts spent two days orbiting Earth 35 times be-fore intercepting the International Space Station (ISS), which is located some 400 km above Earth’s surface.Mogensen will remain at the ISS for 10 days. He is scheduled to return to Earth during the middle of the night on Sep-tember 12.He posted this on Facebook on Sep-tember 7: “Fantastic start to the day! Flew right over Denmark with no clouds!” Fantastic, indeed.
Please provide juice, coffee, cake and/or treats when you are the host at the cottage.

WHAT’S COMING UP
The nation’s premier holiday fes-tival, December Nights, will take place in Balboa Park
Friday, December 4,3:00-11:00 p.m. and
Saturday, December 5,noon-11:00 p.m.
The House of Denmark contributes to the Christmas Festival in the In-ternational Village by serving our much loved æbleskiver, hot apple cider and hot chocolate, gløg and eggnog.
Your help is needed!
Every year, our members pull together and make this event a success. Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated.Please come and make æbleskiver or help serve the many visitors to the Cottage and our stand in the “Spirit Garden”. Those who donate a few hours of their time receive free participation in the House of Denmark Christmas Party.If you can lend a hand with our most important fund raiser, we would love to hear from you.

Danish composer and singer Sinne Eeg is considered one of the best female jazz vocalists in Scandinavia. Sinne will be in California this fall, and the House of Denmark will be hosting a concert with her

San Diego, CA 92127Tickets will be $15 for our members and $20 for non-members. Seating will be quite limited. We will alert you when tickets go on sale.For this concert, Sinne will be accompanied by local band Peter Sprageue Trio.Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and refreshments till be avail-able for purchase before and after the concert.
Among many other awards, Sinne Eeg received the acclaimed Ben Webster Prize in 2014 as the first vocal-ist ever. She has toured extensively in many parts of the world. In Denmark, she regularly performs at the jazz venue La Fontaine in Copenhagen.
