4-H Window Decor! by Anna H.

On June 3rd some 4-H members went to the new Winner's Circle Western Wear store on Broadway in Placerville and decorated their window display with a 4-H theme for the Wagon Train event on June 8th and 9th and fair the following week. Seven members from Southside Topnotch, Latrobe Outlanders and Gold Hill Toppers came and helped design and place the display items. We had a section for some of the projects that 4-H offers, like dogs, horse, beef, rocketry, fiber arts and more!! There was a section for leadership with meeting supplies, and a section for record books.

We folded flyers for the store to hand out to people that are interested in 4-H. I think this will interest people in 4-H when they see all the great things that 4-H offers. Some of the fun things we put in the display were; A spinning wheel, rockets, and a 4-H flag. We also put different kinds of awards that can be won in 4-H like; banners, ribbons, trophies and an outstanding exhibiter t-shirt. We really wanted the public to know and understand that 4-H is more than just raising and showing

animals, it’s a lot about leadership and community service and learning how to run a successful meeting and all the other great things 4-H has to offer!

The display will be up until the end of June, if you have a chance, go by and see it!

Camp Gold Hollow Nevada County Hello 4-H Camp families, We would like to welcome the youth back from this year’s 4-H Summer Camp at Camp Gold Hollow. I hope the weather (ranging from rain to hot temperatures) did not put too much of a damper on the youth’s camping experience. We here at the 4-H office are looking to get feedback from the youth. If they would like to write a little paragraph or just a sentence or two that would be perfect. We are also looking for pictures, so did your youth take a camera? If possible would you send me pictures that we may end up publishing. Thank you and let me know if you have any questions.
