In total the Africa region has currently 269 hotel projects in the
pipeline with more than 60,000 hotel rooms.
OVERVIEWREGION
50% of all 269 hotel projects that are currently arising in Africa will
be 5 star hotels.

In 2019 44 new hotels have opened their doors all over Africa.
Looking at 2020 35% of all current registered projects are
scheduled to celebrate inauguration. Leading countries in terms of
expected openings in 2020 are Cairo and Addis Ababa with each 5
projects and Algiers is also looking forward to add 4 new hotels to
their current hotel portfolio.

The 269 hotel projects in the Africa region are separated in five different phases due to their construction progress. 55% of all projects
are currently under construction. The 17 hotels which are currently in the pre-opening phase are expected to celebrate their
inauguration within the next six months.
