HOTEL ACCESSIBILITY PACK Thank you for considering the Hilton Ageas Bowl. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your visit. Arriving at the hotel We are 171 bedroom hotel, part of the Ageas Bowl Resort, the home of Hampshire Cricket. We have many facilities including Beefy’s Restaurant by Sir Ian Botham, Lakeview Bar, indulgent Eforea Spa treatments and an 18 hole Boundary Lakes Golf Course The hotel is close to road and rail transport links to London, Reading, Portsmouth and Brighton and close to Southampton Airport Access is through the main entrance on ground level. We have 13 accessible parking bays at the front of our car park closest to the hotel.

HOTEL ACCESSIBILITY PACK

Thank you for considering the Hilton Ageas Bowl. We are pleased to give you

some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your

visit.

Arriving at the hotel

We are 171 bedroom hotel, part of the Ageas Bowl Resort, the home of Hampshire Cricket.

We have many facilities including Beefy’s Restaurant by Sir Ian Botham, Lakeview Bar, indulgent Eforea Spa treatments and an 18 hole Boundary Lakes Golf Course

The hotel is close to road and rail transport links to London, Reading, Portsmouth and Brighton and close to Southampton Airport

Access is through the main entrance on ground level.

We have 13 accessible parking bays at the front of our car park closest to the hotel.

There is a drop off point directly outside the front entrance and please feel free to ask the reception team if you need any help.

Welcome and reception

The check-in desk is immediately in front of the entrance door to your left.

The lobby is all on one level, with a carpeted and hard surface floor. It is fully accessible, and a disabled toilet is available to your right through the ballroom lobby and to your left.

There is lift access to all floors –Mezzanine, Upper Ground, 1st 2nd & 3rd Floor.

Check-in is at the main reception desk, which is 1m high. However, a team member will come round from behind the desk to check you in/out if necessary.

The induction loop is at the check-in point, to the far left-hand side of the reception desk.

The Hotel operates a system of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans). On check-in to the Hotel, you will be offered the opportunity to discuss and outline any special requirements or assistance you may need should an evacuation of the Hotel be necessary as a result of a fire or other emergency.

Other services

You can order a wake-up call through the reception team. Or, you can set a wake-up call in your room, using either the phone system or the television.

Every guest room has a guest directory that contains information about the facilities in the hotel. For extra help to use this directory, please contact a team member.

For any extra information you may need, please ask at reception, where the team will be more than happy to help you.

Toilet facilities

The public toilets are located on the Ground Floor, Upper Ground between Beefy’s and Lakeview Bar, and on the bedroom floors outside the lift lobby.

Taxis

We can provide local taxi information at Reception. Our taxi firm meets the conditions of disabled guests.

Beefy’s Restaurant by Sir Ian Botham

Access to Beefy’s restaurant is via the lift to the Upper Ground Floor.

The entrance to the restaurant is directly outside the lift lobby on your left.

The restaurant is on one level with wooden panelled and hard flooring throughout

There is direct access to the Stadium from this level through a single door.

The buffet area is located towards the back of the restaurant

We can provide menus in large print if you require.

A team member will be on hand if you should need any help with reading the menu.

Both self-service and table service are provided.

We also have arthritic cutlery available on request.

Lakeview Bar

Access to Lakeview Bar is via the lift to the Upper Ground Floor.

The entrance to the bar is on your right hand side as you come out of the lift lobby.

The bar is on one level with a mixture of wooden panelled/ hard flooring and carpet.

There is direct access to both outside terraces from the bar through a single door.

We can provide menus in large print if you require.

A team member will be on hand if you should need any help with reading the menu.

Health Club

We have a health club located on the mezzanine floor accessible via the lift.

The fitness room has surveillance cameras, which are monitored by reception.

The floor in the gym is rubber matted.

The gym has three running machines, two cycling machines, one rowing machine, three cross-trainers, a multi-purpose weight machine, leg and arm extension machine, an exercise area and a free weights area.

We provide towels in the gym and there is a water dispenser.

The spa facilities are accessible for a fee of £25

The reception desk is located on your left as you enter the Spa and is hard tiled throughout.

To access the Spa facilities you follow a carpeted corridor on your right hand side.

The changing rooms are to your left giving you direct access to the hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam areas.

A separate fully accessible changing facility is available through the main changing rooms, with a roll in shower, support handles and emergency cord.

The hydrotherapy pool has a step to access it with a handrail provided for support.

There is a Jacuzzi outside on the decking, which is located on a raised platform with two steps.

Further along the corridor is the thermal lounge, transition lounge and

beauty treatment rooms.

Bedrooms

171 bedrooms split into double or twin. We have five king suites available.

We have 9 accessible bedrooms in total, 4 Queen Standard, and 5 Deluxe with balconies. All the rooms have a spacious bathroom with roll in shower, lowered basin and support handles. The rooms have emergency cords, lowered beds, toilet, light switches, controls and peep hole as well as vibrating pillow.

We can add the following equipment to any room in the hotel for you to use via request prior to arrival - A Derby toilet seat - A Cosby bath seat - An Ashby step-two - A Castle Safe support rail - A bath board (plastic) - Bed risers (individual ‘elephant feet’) - Text phone and a TV loop system

Your room will have a chair at the desk, a ‘comfy’ chair and a coffee table. If you need more space in your room, we can remove any of these items. Please contact either reservations, before your stay, or housekeeping once you have arrived at the hotel, to arrange for furniture to be moved.

In an emergency

Should you have any concerns regarding emergency evacuations, please speak to the Duty Manager.

Ballroom

The ballroom is located on the ground floor to the right hand side as you walk through the entrance

The ballroom is on one level, with carpet throughout

It can cater for up to 700 guests theatre style Ageas Media Centre

Located on the 2nd floor fully accessible by lift

Offer spectacular views overlooking the cricket pitch with floor to ceiling windows

Perfect for 90 -100 guests, theatre style with views that cannot be beaten Small Meeting Rooms

We have 7 smaller meeting rooms which cater for up to 25 people, located on the upper Ground level which are fully accessible via the lift.
