APPROACH

• We compile various models based on (thermal) images and videos. The data is analyzed via our software stack

to create detailed maps and models of the buildings, job sites, or structures. These maps and models are

available onsite or at the headquarters for further analysis or client meetings. Based on the drone data, we

provide detailed facade analysis of buildings and structures. The drone can be flown in a predefined pattern

capturing images of every inch of the structure. These images can then be analyzed by the engineers, managers,

or (building) inspectors in a safe manner. Further, the data provides digital records of the process where the

current state can be accurately documented, and potential issues can be addressed instantly. This data can also

be used for insurance purposes and further analysis.

• The 3D models of the buildings, job sites, and structures can be used to accurately determine distances, areas,

height profiles, and volume measurements. These measurements allow builders to plan potential alterations or

repairs to the building or structure. The thermal images can be used to identify deficiencies in building materials

and so improve safety and allow for timely repairs. All of this allows for a much more streamlined cost and

time analysis, as well as actual cost predictions of the construction jobs.

VALUE PROPOSITION FOR ROOF INSPECTIONS

• Roof inspections traditionally require observations either from the ground level, from a ladder, or by physically walking the roof.

These observations not only involve steep angles, but also spacious and even inaccessible areas. The amount of time required

for these traditional methods is costly and rather risky. As the traditional approach is time consuming and has physical

limitations, accurately observing every inch of a roof is extremely unlikely, and the quality of these inspections is very limited.

• A drone is able to capture high quality images and videos of not only the roof, but of the entire structure and property in a

fraction of the time it takes to do this via the traditional way. Drones allow to observe the results of the inspection from the

ground and with our AI software, we can prepare a detailed analysis of the data in less time and with virtually no risk of injury.

We use thermal imaging for roof inspections and with our software, are able to detect water infiltration in roofs and facades.

Piloting a drone with a thermal camera allows us to detect areas of water damage, leaks, mold, and rot. The traditional way to

detect water damage is either based on educated guesses or requires the removal of the building’s exterior to get an

assessment.

• We provide detailed 2D/3D models of the property and its structures that reveal the condition of the elements that can be

used to establish accurate plans for repair and replacement jobs. Our software stack can even identify wind or hail damage, data

than can be used to file a claim with an insurance company.

DRONES FOR WIND TURBINE INSPECTIONS

• Drones can fly tremendously close to structures, allowing to inspect objects with complicated designs and hard to reach areas in a

very efficient and accurate manner. Regular preventative maintenance significantly extends the lifespan of turbines and ensure that

they output the maximum possible power under all conditions. Inspecting turbines is a challenge, as they depict rather tall

constructs and the internal structure of the blades is prone to structural problems that may not be visible from the outside.

• Since the internal structure of a blade heats and cools at different rates, using thermal images coupled with our software, we can

identify the small fluctuations and report on it. Inspecting turbines with drones allows an outage to shrink from hours to minutes.

• The traditional way requires to halt the turbine with a blade in the six o’clock position

while operatives are lowered down from the top (on ropes or cables) and the inspection

is conducted by banging on the blade to estimate the soundness of the material. The key

issues here are:

• The process is very time consuming

• The approach is rather subjective and so is definitely error prone

• Outside factors such as wind or rain further reduce the accuracy of the traditional method

• The turbine is out of service for hours and hence income is lost

• Operatives are put at risk by working at these heights
