Hot-desking Analysis

I used my class to hot-desk my work, they told me what parts of my work were good and which parts needed improving, from that I have created three list, one

shows the strengths of my work, another shows what needs improving and the third is what I am going to do

in response to the improvements suggested.

The stage I am

currently at.

Strengths • The text is easily read.• The image on the front cover shows the genre of pop: her make up, the pose. • The black text is easy to read.• The fonts show the genre of pop. • The masthead is easy to detect and read. The masthead is very clear and the use of a seriffed typeface gives your publication a sophisticated twist. This accompanied with sans serif typefaces on the rest of the pages makes for a modern, classy, intelligently constructed magazine.• The masthead stands out a lot from the rest of the page.• The mast head is very unique and therefore easy to know which magazine it

belongs to.

Areas for Improvements • The pink on the contents page is too bright.• There are to many colours on the front cover. • The colours are to bright and detract from the image.• The colours on the contents page are very bright and are less easy to read.• The image on the front cover doesn’t show pop as there is nothing to suggest music. • The colours are not quite correct for pop.• There is not enough colour on the front cover.• The white text is hard to read.• There is to little colour in the image on the front cover.

Ways to Improve• I am going to soften the pink on the contents page so that the

text is easier to read, this may cause the white to become even less readable so I may have to change the colour of the text.

• I am going to try different coloured texts on the front cover to minimise the different colours on the page.

• I am going to look at the rest of the colours that I have used and see if some can be changed to match others.
