Introduction• SNEAK PREVIEWS are SPECIAL

SHOWINGS of something (such as a movie, play, or product) BEFORE it becomes AVAILABLE to the general public. It is an OPPORTUNITY to SEE (a part of) something NEW BEFORE the REST of the public sees it. “God, the Master Producer and Orchestrator of life, has some surprises in store for us all. He just loves to tell secrets to His own. And throughout history, He has given glimpses of what was to come” (Bill Johnson, “Hosting The Presence”, p. 81).

Introduction• “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter” (Proverbs 25:2). We often LIVE our lives in a PERPETUAL WAITING ROOM, only expecting, never PURSUING and SEARCHING OUT (actively involved) what GOD wants to REVEAL. We must CHANGE the WAY we THINK when it comes to receiving answers from Heaven. In the KINGDOM, things are HIDDEN to be FOUND, not to be concealed and remain mysterious.

Introduction• JESUS said, “Ask, and it will be given to you;

seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8, Luke 11:9-10). The verbs ASK, SEEK, and KNOCK are all CONTINUOUS ACTION. The BELIEVER is to EXERT continuous EFFORT and ENERGY into DISCOVERING GOD, His WILL, and His KINGDOM. In the Sermon on the Mount, JESUS stated, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

Introduction• JESUS often used ILLUSTRATIONS and

PARABLES to TEACH and/or communicate with the people. At times, the PARABLES were DIFFICULT to UNDERSTAND. Therefore, the disciple asked Him, “Why?” His answer came with strong WARNING and great PROMISE (Matthew 13:11-17; Luke 8:9-10). Note JESUS stated, “…It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven…” (Matthew 13:11). The word “KNOW” (ginosko) means to “KNOW (absolute), allow, BE AWARE (of), feel, (have) KNOWLEDGE, be resolved, PERCIEVE, be sure, UNDERSTAND, speak”. It suggests that KNOWLEDGE is DISCOVERABLE. It is HIDDEN; it must be FOUND.

Introduction• Why does GOD HIDE things from us and yet EXTEND an INVITATION to SEARCH them out? Simple. The answer is so that we DISCOVER TRUTH, revelation, discernment, understanding, direction, and answers. SEEKERS and ACHIEVERS receive MORE (Matthew 13:12) It is the LAW of NATURE: the EARLY BIRD gets the worm. It is the LAW of GOD. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).

Introduction• However, the non-dreamer and complacent receive little and get less (Matthew 13:13-15). Nevertheless, TRUE BELIEVERS are SEEKERS and ACHIEVERS; because of their continuous pursuit, they receive MORE and are blessed with MORE (vv. 16-17). The KEY to this is SEEING and HEARING- aggressive continuous action. God does not just intend to give us what we need; but out of RELATIONSHIP and INTIMACY with us, He wants to SHARE HIS HEART on the very things we are SEEKING out.

Introduction• During the process, the LORD gives a SNEAK PREVIEW of what is to COME. He provides a GLIMPSE of the COMING ATTRACTION to ensure our TRUST in HIM. “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him” (Psalm 34:8). The LORD says, “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them” (Isaiah 42:9).

Introduction• “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). “…From this time forth I announce to you new things, hidden things that you have not known” (Isaiah 48:6). In conclusion, it is not so much about what we need FROM HIM, but it becomes about everything we receive IN HIM. Everything we are SEARCHING for is ACCESSIBLE in HIS PRESENCE!

Conclusion• The Church is receiving SNEAK PREVIEWS of the

GLORY of GOD and His KINGDOM. These SNEAK PREVIEWS are GLIMPSES of COMING ATTRACTIONS. They reveal the PLAN and PURPOSE of GOD. They are INSIGHTS into the KINGDOM of GOD. Like Jacob, who received a glimpse of God in Genesis 28, we have received a glimpse of the glory of God (John 1:14). JESUS is the HOUSE of GOD; He is the GATE of HEAVEN. In Him, we shall see GREATER THINGS; we shall see HEAVEN OPENED (vv. 50-51). Such is characterized by an OPEN HEAVEN, the VOICE of GOD, and a CONTINUOUS FLOW of the SUPERNATURAL/ANGELIC activity from Heaven to earth.
