Lisa Caputo I like it here at St Joes, I have no complaints, everyone including the staff is wonderful and the food is okay.
Greetings Residents and Families,
The Board and Executive have spent time working on our Regional Strategic Plan and our vision for the future. It is expected that later in February that our renewed vision and mission will be released along with our new website and facebook page. This is particularly important given all the changes that will be implemented for Community Clients. We are pleased to report that we will be able to provide community services in Port Pirie from the end of February. I am excited by this prospect. The care and comfort of our residents is important to The Board Executive and Staff. We are pleased to report that we were compliant in all areas following a spot visit in the first week of the year. We have also listened to recent feedback and the resident menu has been tweaked to meet the requests. Thankyou for your feedback it is appreciated. Please feel free to see senior staff if there is anything on your mind that you wish to discuss.
Warm Wishes, Darylin Cowling

Brain Games Answers on Pg 10 Compliments, Complaints, Comments
Hi everyone, Well the start of the year has gone so fast. I have spent this first month sorting through my workload and getting things archived. We continue to implement some improvements which you may sometimes not notice as they may be behind the scenes. We currently have 2 EN students with us doing their Placement. We will continue to have students throughout the year, both EN’s and PCA’s. As you know there is a lot of road works happening outside of St Joseph’s so please be mindful of this is you’re planning a visit or an Outing. Kind Regards Carol CQI/WHS

Hi from Hospitality………………
Philip has been on leave and we hope he is feeling
better soon.
Alley and Marra have been working together to keep things
going…
As you will see throughout the newsletter pictures of the
lovely meals and cakes coming from the girls and we hope
you are enjoying them,
We have been busy updating and changing a few things,
adding more staff and improvements to the pureed meals.
We have had many compliments re meals and we
appreciate that.
Last communication with those who are delivering the
Bain-Marie's is that they have arrived on Australian Soil
and they are having the motors installed I will keep you
updated as we know more.
Laundry have been working hard to keep you clothed over
the holidays , please remember that they do not work on
public holidays so please make sure your family has
supplied enough underwear for those times.
The cleaners have been busy keeping up with cleaning and
keeping the home fresh and presentable.
We have received feedback and we are currently looking at
those suggestions and will get back to you at your next
meeting with the answers and or changes.

Lifestyle
Hi
We hope you are keeping cool in this hot weather.
Please remember our hot weather policy , we don’t like
to take anyone out over 35 degrees, If you are in need of
something urgently please let Lifestyle know and we
will get it for you.
Well I have a great couple of weeks off over Christmas
relaxing , fishing and catching up on “call the midwife”
weather was beautiful and the fishing was ok, although
my rock fishing days are coming to an end my feet aren't
as stable as they were, had a nice fall landing on my
poor knees…… but I did not spill the coffee I was
holding. I thank you lifestyle staff and Volunteers for
holding the forte you did an excellent job.
Anyway we are back in the swing of it with January
being busy with all our usual entertainers and we also
welcome Les Rich and thank him for his time.
Our Volunteers are back and we wish to thank each of
them , they are very precious to us.
Chair exercises are a hit and will do them as much as we
can for you.
Thank you to those residents who joined us for picnic in
the park for
Australia Day, it was enjoyable.
Bingo app is giving us a few problems so we will go
back to the old way while we sort the problem out.
Don’t forget its your lifestyle program not mine so if
there is anything you want changed, taken out or added
don’t hesitate to see Marra and we will see what we can
do.
We are very excited about the new web site and when
we can we will hook the laptop up to the big TV and
give you a sneak peek……….
Much Love

"Hospital Regulations"
Hospital rules state that patients checking out must have a wheelchair.
One day a newly graduated nurse assistant came into the room to find an man fully dressed. He was sitting on the bedside chair, with a piece of
packed luggage at his side, all ready to go.
When he was shown the wheelchair, he was adamant that he was fully capable of walking himself to the parking lot.
But the assistant told him rules were rules, so he relented and let her wheel
him out. In the elevator, the assistant asked the man if his wife was coming to meet
him.
“I don’t think so,” he replied. “It takes her awhile to change her clothes, so she’s probably still upstairs in the bathroom taking off of her hospital gown
and getting dressed.”
“You Need a Shorter Password””
While he was visiting, my father asked for the password to our Wi-Fi.
“It’s taped under the modem,” I told him.
After three failed attempts to log on, he asked, “Am I spelling this right? T-A-P-E-D-U-N-D-E-R-T-H-E-M-O-D-E-M?”
Listen To Your Doctor Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later the doctor
saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm. A couple of days later the doctor spoke to Morris and said, "You're really doing great, aren't
you?" Morris replied, "Just doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.'"
The doctor said, "I didn't say that. I said, 'You've got a heart murmur. Be careful.'"..ooh!
