Pipers Place is named after a horse that helped me with my PTSD and is dear to my heart. She helped me find myself and what I was put in this world to do. HELP OTHERS!!! There will be a program for foster children that is named COOKIE, after a pony that my adopted son had that helped him with the changes going on in his life.

Pipers Place will be a therapy program free to inner city children, foster children and veterans. The program will be a specified planned for each individual client to receive the help that is needed. It will be open to any client for FREE! There will be class room activities along with meals and free time to just enjoy their surroundings. We plan on planting a garden for the horses to have treats all year round and since the camp grounds is right there we plan to have camp outs with trail riding and other activities the camp grounds has to offer.

Purchase property big enough to accommodate everything needed, barns, arena, track and pastures. This would be 30+ acres. The school would be paid for by boarding horses, arena rental (for horse shows, winter workouts and lessons) , track rental. After first initial investment the business would pay for it's self. Employees would be on a volunteer staff and 1 live on property staff member. MISSION

Every stable of plausible size and origin has the potential of reaching and embracing greatness. Success is a political and hard sought after adventure in the equestrian sport. Organized, professional boarding programs balanced, adaptable training programs are the primer to that success. I assure that my propositions for this facility offer a far more extensive overview for education, care and advancement than any facility professional, private or otherwise in the outlying area. The combination of disciplines and reliance on more than one marketable audience also brings forth an onslaught of ambitious potential. You are familiar with the racing industry as it was before and how it has become in our area. But there is another market out there that doesn't get recognized- That of the inner city children, they are being brought up in a time now with drugs, violence, bullying, deep depression. So let me paint a new picture for you one that will give a fresh look at what we can do for these children.Grables Stables..out to make a difference!A single mother gets asked over and over again mom there's nothing to do we are bored. Of course the mother being single worries what will become of her children, they are bored, lazy, gaining weight, sitting in front of a t.v. or computer all day. So she starts looking for something reasonably priced for them to do, asking around to people with the same problems she hears of a place right outside of town that has children be able to come enjoy animals and other children their age. She goes to her local feed store and sees a pamphlet explaining everything Grables Stables offers and realizes she can do this for her children.Upon entering the gates and pulling back to the barn she sees it's very clean with flowers, plants, a garden area with a sign that says horse treats growing here. She thinks how neat they grow their own treats for the animals. As she gets out the kids are already saying things about what they see and smell. Mom look a horse and that little girl is riding by herself seeing and hearing the excitement in her children, she heads to the office. A well lit area with pictures and ribbons all over the walls greats her along with a smiling face and gentle voice. Welcome to Grables Stables So far shes impressed, she looks around and sees children doing homework, chatting and talking about whos riding who. Shes pleased, she is handed a welcome packet with all the information in it about program outlines, work study and low income options, fun sheets for the kids, a welcome letter, all legal forms and application, with a large coupon that reads ONE FREE LESSON. An employee comes in to give her a tour, she's surprised its a young woman. They make their way through the barn lined with neat clean stalls and tack areas, to emerge out to a huge arena, where children are riding horses around an instructor ( another woman). The children are paying close attention to what is being said to them and smiling, they seem to be having fun and there's no games, electronics involved. She likes this, her children seem to be listening to what this woman is saying and paying attention even though they're not on a horse. They continue with the tour absorbing in everything they see and hear.The car ride home is filled with conversations of what was seen and heard, they are all excited. Mom gets the chance to read about the programs and sees she can do this and the kids will love it. She calls for an appointment to use her ONE FREE LESSON. She than enrolls her children in a program and Grables Stables has a new client that starts telling others about her experience.So begins another future saved ....A difference is made..........

Equine therapy is a form of psychotherapy using horses as an instrument for therapeutic healing. A health therapist may use a horse to facilitate emotional growth and healing in a client. Many therapists find equine therapy helpful for assisting clients that are resistant to traditional therapy. Good examples of clients that benefit from equine therapy include at-risk populations.Studies suggest that many animals, not just horses, provide the population at large with therapeutic benefits.

Equine-assisted psychotherapy, also known as EAP, is becoming a more popular form of health therapy along with many other alternative forms of health therapy including art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and massage therapy.During a typical equine therapy session, clients may interact with horses socially, groom them, feed and walk with horses and engage in games with horses. The goal of therapy is to improve health. Typically a licensed therapist will work along with a horse professional to conduct therapy sessions.The Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association suggest that the most common uses for EAP include:Attention Deficit DisorderBehavioral ProblemsAbuse/Abusive PastDepressionAnxietyCommunication DisordersRelationship HealingSome suggest that equine therapy works much like cognitive-behavioral therapy. The therapist uses the horse's movements and behaviors, and the client's interpretations of those movements as a mechanism to monitor, explain and change negative patterns of thinking that may result in communication difficulties, relationship problems or an otherwise unhealthy lifestyle.

In CBT therapy a similar model is used to transform negative thought patterns to positive ones.Horses have been found to provide tremendous and instantaneous feedback, so they have become very useful as a vehicle for healing and therapy. Much like dogs are very social and accepting animals, many therapists and clients find horses demonstrate the same personality traits, allowing clients to engage in relationships that feel safe and free from criticism.
