FET-Flagship
Next Flagship: Quantum Flagship (deadline 20 Feb 2018)Swiss Quantum Day
Call for pre-selection of second Flagship : 1-ICT and Connected Society, 2- Health and the Life Sciences, 3- Energy, Environment and Climate change
FET Flagships are visionary, large-scale, science-driven research initiatives which tackle scientific and technological challenges across
scientific disciplines.
7.12.201741
FET-Proactive [1/2]
6 emerging areas identified:1 Artificial Organs, Tissues and Cells: Merge understanding of metabolism and cell behaviour with strategies for the delivery and use of functional biological constructs: replace, repair, print organ or body on chip2 Time: Radically new technological possibilities related to time: measure, represent, simulate, manipulate, stop, create, invert, multiply or perceive etc.3 Living Technologies: based on evolutionary biology, ethology, plant- and animal biology to understand growth, adaptation and evolution and other essential features of living systems, involving gene/phenome/morphology changes, create new functional biological, technological or hybrid artefacts.
FET Proactive interdisciplinary exploration and consolidation of a new technological direction and their community in order to put it firmly on
the map as a viable paradigm for future technology
FET-Proactive [2/2]4 deep social interaction: use cognitive, neural and physiological levels from pair to group interactions to seek futuristic social for improved trust, social integration, engagement and understanding - deeper social interaction with context, culture, emotion, embodiment, cognition
5 micro-energy: new approaches to energy for embedded, local or personal use targeting micro-energy (production, distribution, storage etc.)
6 Topological matter: concept development & design, realisation and testing of topological devices, beyond pure physics or mathematics aspects. The much expected robustness, wide spectral range and topologically-protected transport properties are calling for an engineering approach to apply the multi-physics of wave-matter interactions to novel, potentially lossless communication components and circuits. Concept, design, realisation and testing of topological devices .
7.12.201742
FET Open supports the early-stages of the science and technology research and innovation around new ideas towards radically new future technologies. It also funds coordination and support activities for such
high-risk forward looking research to prosper in Europe.
