    2 NEW CLASSROOMSIN MINDANAO

IN THIS ISSUE:New Classroom Dedications, Whos Got HOPE, Planet HOPE, and HOPE Mete

Lots of exciting news and developments to share with yousince our last issue! On March 16, 2015, two new classroomswere dedicated for the grade 1 and 2 students at the H.N.Cahilsot Central Elementary School in General Santos City. These classrooms were made possible through Hope in a Bottlesales of two of our longest-standing partners, Krispy KremeDoughnuts and Starbucks Coffee.

Ms. Nieva Montanez, former Principal of H.N. Cahilsot, explained to us that nine classrooms in the school wereburned down last year due to an electrical fire. Even in thesecircumstances, the students still had a deep desire to continuetheir education, so they studied in shifts in the alreadyovercrowded classrooms!

At the dedication ceremony, Ami Valdemoro, ExecutiveDirector of Friends of Hope credited both our partners andtheir customers for their contribution: These classrooms are atestament to the collective action of people who want to makea difference. By coming together to take small actions each andevery day, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and all their customers arecreating a brighter future for the students at H.N. Cahilsot. That is the power of HOPE.

Thank you to KrispyKreme and Starbucks for

    having HOPE!

On May 5, 2015, Yoshinoya Megamall was buzzing withexcitement as the contestants of the 2015 Miss EarthPhilippines filed into the restaurant!

Yoshinoya has long been a supporter of HOPEs advocacyand chose to serve Hope in a Bottle to highlight our collectiveinvestment in public education. The contestants we met with,

including Angelia Ong, the recently crowned Miss EarthPhilippines, were eager to hear more about Hope in a Bottleand what they could do to support HOPEs mission. Theyexpressed their appreciation for organizations like HOPE thatare focusing on helping expand opportunities for students inpublic schools across the Philippines. Wanting to do her partto spread the message of Hope in a Bottle, Donna MarieLibre immediately posted a picture of Hope in a Bottle on herInstagram and encouraged her friends to support!

What a warm and pleasant surprise it was when the HOP

team learned that uber chefs JC de Terry and Bruce Rickethad staged a fundraiser for Hope in Opus for Two. The evenshowcased an epic menu of classical styles courtesy of Chde Terry and improvisational inspirations from Chef Ricke- by all accounts the evening was a raging success both on tculinary fronts as well as the philanthropic front. The entHope team is grateful and proud to welcome Terrys Selectito the Hope in a Bottle family. By the looks of it, a brand neclassroom is not too far off for this innovative and generoduo. A special shout out to Berna Romulo Puyat for helpimake this happen!
