Many thanks to all who helped make our Sacred Heart festival a success! Our committee members are preparing a full report and will publish it as soon as possible. A report for the Auction is included in this bulletin. Archdiocesan Capital Campaign Update: Thanks to our fami-lies who have recently responded to the Archdiocesan Capital Campaign! As of last Tuesday, our Campaign total pledges stood as follows: St. James - $165,280, or 61.4% of the $269,000 goal; Sacred Heart - $88,919, or 71.7% of the $124,000 goal, and St. Patrick - $43,682, or 81% of the $54,000 goal. Of the 28 parishes that are participating in Wave 1 of the Campaign, our churches rank 3rd, 4th, and 8th , in pledge percent-age. Great going, Catholic Community! As pledged money continues to come in and our 40% becomes available, it will be the work of our Finance and Building Committees and Pastoral Councils, working with Fr. Stan, to see that this money is di-rected to the projects outlined in the Case Statements you re-ceived and studied when you made your pledge. Archbishop’s Appeal 2018: In addition to our Capital Cam-paign, our parishes participate in the yearly Archbishop’s Appeal - which raises $4,500,000 for projects and ministries throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio. This year, we have done very well! St. James has total pledges of $19,766, or 182% of our goal of $10,860. Sacred Heart is at $5,323, or 124% of its $4,289 goal; and St. Patrick has received pledges of $3,065, or 174 % of its $1,761 goal. For every dollar raised above our goals, 50% will be returned to the community for our use. For the past several years, I have served on the committee that deter-mines how these funds are directed; and thank you for enabling so much good work to be done throughout our Archdiocese! -- Fr. Paul Our Lady of Perpetual Help Feast Day is this Wednesday, June 27. We will celebrate with a 5:30 pm Mass at St. James, followed by our customary Novena, and then a presentation in which all Catholics from our community and beyond are invited to share a special Consecration to Jesus through Mary, learn more about this miraculous icon, and share our own local stories of how Mother Mary has touched our lives and our families. Souvenir holy cards will be provided for all. -- Jeanette Technik, Holly Coco, Lupe Saldana, Doris Baros. Our Catholic Community blesses Jose Luis Vela and Maria del Carmen Reyna; and Andrew and Leticia Rodriguez; who cele-brate who celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony this Saturday, June 30 at St. James Church. We also bless Bobby Joe Coleman and Stephanie Yanez, who enter Matrimony next Sunday, July 1 at St. James. Jose and Maria, Andrew and Leticia, Bobby Joe and Stephanie - may you always live the sacrament you receive! Mission Appeal: The weekend of July 14-15, please welcome Father John Hopkinson, a Marist Missionary Priest working in Bolivia, who will ask your support for the missionary work of his congregation. Your generosity is appreciated! Please remember Fr. Mike Pienemann and Fr. Stan Fiuk, as they prepare to enter our community. Fr. Mike will arrive on July 2, and Fr. Stan during the week of July 22. Fr. Stan has asked that our committees, ministries, schedules and operational procedures remain in place without change as he and Fr. Mike get settled in.
