Dedication of
Newly Restored Chapel and New Chimes
On Sunday, November 20th, at the 10:00 service we will rededicate the newly restored chapel which includes the following updates: new car-pet and paint, new chairs, new sound system, new projectors and screens, and new camera for recording the services. In addition, we will also dedicate the newly purchased chimes that will be used by a chime choir made up of resi-dents. The chimes were purchased with memo-rial money from Carol Boebinger & family in memory of her husband, the late Rev. Dr. J. Donald (Don) Boebinger. The Hoosier Village community is cordially invited to attend.

Tree Outside My Window
There’s a tree outside my window, almost
bare, as Winter nears. Once Green leaves, all
turned crimson, have fell like Summer’s tears.
Leaves blown down in gusty breezes, piled
deep and ever deeper, to the always-busy
grounds-man and his noisy vacuum sweeper.
There are twelve leaves clinging stubbornly
to twigs up high, All dried up and flaunting
reason, trembling in gray sky. Slightly lower;
there’s a bird’s nest, snuggly built within a
curve Of accommodating branches, and the
birds’ enduring verve. Days ago, a flash of
color, as two finches scrambled round like
retirees closing windows to head South for
warmer ground. Will the finches claim the
same nest, or the nest survive the blows of
Winter’s icy scratches, and his deep, unpleas-
ant snows? I will keep a close watch on it. I
will hope to see the day, when the miseries of
Winter end, and finches come to play. jb
