Jenna Fortenberry
Jenna Kathleen Fortenberry has attended Texoma Christian School from kindergarten
through her freshman year, then returned for her senior year. While at TCS, Jenna participated in varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, and softball, along with cross country. She is also a member of Sisters in Service, Photography and Art Club, and National Honor Society. Throughout her senior year, Jenna really enjoyed helping the third graders through the applied leadership class!
Outside of school, Jenna is heavily involved in the youth group at her church. She also loves to be with family and friends. What most people do not know about her is that she loves to find different recipes and cook or bake them! When she is not busy, she enjoys watching movies and relaxing with her dog. She also enjoys going out for a run.
Jenna has so many memories from her days at TCS. She said that just being on any athletic team brought her great memories. She will also cherish all the times on the field trips, dances, and just having fun! Jenna said that TCS impacted her greatly both spiritually and academically. Academically, she has developed study habits while learning how to work harder being deaf. Spiritually, TCS has helped her walk in Christ. If she never went to TCS, she would not have come to know the Lord.
When asked who has been influential in her life during her school years, Jenna said, “My parents and my sister have been my biggest supporters since day one! They believed in me to do well academically, socially, and spiritually. I have had several coaches who truly believed in me and pushed me to be the best person and player I can be. Thank you Coach Ellison, Coach Chaffin, Coach Gibson, and several other coaches!”
Following high school, Jenna plans to play collegiate basketball. At this point, she has choices, but does not know which choice to choose just yet. In college, she will major in Kinesiology. She would like to become a high school history teacher and coach, or an athletic trainer.
Jenna’s favorite scripture verse is Romans 8:28. It says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Jenna’s advice to future high school seniors is, “Enjoy your high school years. Life is too short, so imagine how short your high school years will be! Do not worry about any trivial problems...move on. Make amazing memories to cherish!! Also, do not procrastinate!”
