“Create a New Element” Essay and Project- For this assignment you will create a fictitious element that you have “discovered.” You must write a creative paper (400- 450 words) describing how you discovered the element, what its chemical properties are (be as specific as possible and base these on concepts you have learned about this year), and what it is used for. You may include any other information you would like. This should be a cohesive essay (intro, body, conc.) and not just a list of ideas. Your paper must also be accompanied by a poster or other creative representation of your element (PowerPoint, mobile, etc: your choice). Grading will be based on creativity and consideration of the “chemistry” behind your element. Have fun!!

THIS IS A CREATIVE ASSIGNMENT AND THEREFORE YOUR GRADE WILL BE BASED LARGELY ON CREATIVITY.
