“HONORING GOD”REVELATION 4:11

REVELATION 4:11

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things,

and by your will they were createdand have their

being.”

WHAT IS HONORING ?

1. HONORING means "esteem, respect, pay

homage to, assigning value to.“

The Greek word translated "honor" in our English Bibles, timao, means "to prize, to value.

WHAT IS HONORING GOD?

Showing honor to God, then, means treating

GOD respectfully because we value Him

highly.

THREE SPECIAL REASONS GOD DESERVES TO BE

HONORED1. GOD'S GREATNESS.

His greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145: 3.)

No searching can reach its bottom (Isaiah 40:28).

PSALM 145:3

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;his greatness no one

can fathom.

ISAIAH 40 :28

Do you not know?Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God,the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will notgrow tired or weary, and his

understanding no onecan fathom.

HONORED2. GOD’S GOODNESS

God's righteousness and love embrace all his creatures, whatever their character.

PSALM 145:7-9

7 They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

9 The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made

HONORED

3. GOD’S GLORY It is an everlasting kingdom of

power and majesty.

All things in heaven and on earth, and throughout the whole universe, shall forever and ever reflect and accomplish the infinite plan and purpose of God.

PSALM 145:13

Your kingdomis an everlasting kingdom, and your

dominionendures through all generations.

The LORD is trustworthyin all he promises and faithful

in all he does.

HEBREWS 1:3The Son is the radiance of

God's gloryand the exact representation of his being,

sustaining all things by Hispowerful word.

After he had provided purification for sins,he sat down at the right hand of

the Majesty in heaven.

3. GOD’S GLORY.

1. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH OUR WEALTH.

Proverbs 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

MALACHI 3:10

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

2. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH OUR BODY

You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1Cor. 6:20

1 CORINTHIANS 10:31

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you

do,do it all for the glory of

God.

3. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH OUR SERVICES

John 12: 26 “Whoever serves me must follow me;

and where I am, my servantalso will be.

My Father will honor the one who serves me.

JOSHUA 24:24

And the people said to Joshua, "We will servethe LORD our God and

obey him."

HOW TO GIVE GOD THE HONOR

4. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WHEN HIS WORD IS HONORED BECAUSE WE SPREAD IT.

2 Thessalonians 3:1 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.

MATTHEW 28:19-20

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

HOW TO GIVE GOD THE HONOR

5. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH OUR WHOLE LIFE.

PSALM 146:1-2Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD,

my soul.I will praise the LORD all my life;

I will sing praise to my Godas long as I live

PSALM 86:12

I will praise you,Lord my God, with all

my heart;I will glorify your name

forever.

HOW TO GIVE GOD THE HONOR

1. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH OUR WEALTH.

2. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH YOUR BODY

3. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH YOUR SERVICES

4. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WHEN HIS WORD IS HONORED BECAUSE WE SPREAD IT.

5. WE CAN HONOR THE LORD WITH OUR WHOLE LIFE.

CHALLENGE

Have you ever come to meditate and realize how God deserves to be honored?

He deserves to be praised, to be worshipped and to be exalted for all He has done in our lives.

and each member belongs to all the others.6We have different gifts, according to the grace

given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with youra faith;

7if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;

8if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,b do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
