Dear SAS Family,

On behalf of the students, faculty, staff, and trustees of St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School, I want to thank the more than 1,100 donors who

included the school in their 2015-2016 charitable giving. Giving for all purposes, including operating revenue, capital, and endowment support, totaled over $1.35 million.

As many of you know, the SAS Fund helps make up the difference between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student at SAS. Each donor who contributed to the SAS Fund this year had a direct impact on the operation of the school. SAS Fund dollars supported faculty and staff salaries, helped maintain our campus and buildings, and enabled the school to provide the wide variety of academic and extracurricular opportunities our students and their families expect and deserve. SAS Fund contributions totaled over $578,000.

Plan Your LegacyThe Mountain Society was established in 1998 by the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Board of Trustees to honor those who have made provisions for the School in their estate plans. It is the policy of the Board that all such gifts are invested in the School’s endowment unless otherwise indicated by the donor. Consequently, these important gifts make a direct and lasting difference in the lives of students and teachers now and for years to come. Members of the Mountain Society are recognized annually with a gathering during Alumni Weekend. The only requirement for inclusion in the Mountain Society is documentation from the donor noting that the School is the beneficiary of a planned gift. Since 1998, more than 80 alumni and friends have notified the School of their commitment to its mission through these important gifts.
